I was given the number to Roger Loock by Beaver Creek Armory, as I needed parts I had ordered from MCarbo installed on a Kel-Tec Sub2000.

On my first call, I was told by Roger that he doesn't work on Kel-Tec. Well, dang.

I had somehow gotten a different number to Revelation Arms, and his son, Ivan Loock, told me "no problem" because I had the parts ready to go, but that otherwise he didn't stock Kel-Tec parts.

Because the shop is behind a house in a residential neighborhood, I had to flip around, as I missed it on my first drive through. Not a big deal. The pickup appointment was much easier.

At the shop, I learned that I had spoken to his father earlier, and was given a short explanation of why people don't like to work on Kel-Tec. No one ever wants to hear that their firearm is subpar, but Ivan was polite about it.

The work I needed done was simple. I just didn't have the tools to do it at home. Ivan charged me a reasonable fee, and maintained his quote, despite admitting that he had underestimated the time it would take to complete the work.

At pickup (faster than quoted!) Ivan and I chatted a while, and it was nice to have more than just a short business interaction, though the intense cigarette odor gave me a headache.

In the shop, an initial inspection proved ok (though my rifle wouldn't click into place when I folded it, I saw that the buttstock was at its furthest position, and I could fix that at home.) When I got home, I had to readjust some Kydex he had installed to better form to the rifle, as this was what was hindering the folding. The charging handle also fell off, as it wasn't seated properly, but the piece I needed it to connect to was secure due to Ivan's work.

So, slight adjustments made at home, but overall a happy customer. He did the heavy lifting, and I did the fine details. Think of it as teamwork, with the prices reflecting.

Extra star for the sweet doggo!

I went to this place last year to have my Mosin PU scope and mount installed (stock required some minor woodworking before drilling). I was charged like $65 for drilling the 2 holes, woodworking, and install. Great deal. It was done that same week. This guy is very fair, and very efficient with his time. I just wish his place was easier to find...
