Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Not wanting to drive 1.5hrs to N. Fork Lanes or east of Mt. Hood this is a great alternative. All I really needed to do was function check a few things which took 20 minutes and this was perfect. You do have to park near the street and hike to the site. Follow the trail and once you get to the fork go right and it shouldn't be too far. Great little spot for pistol roughly 10-15 yards.
Mary and Dan have been in Tacoma for a long time, I bought my first Washington state Firearm from them. They had an amazing selection before the Plague, it is coming back. They have reasonable pricing, they have a good knowledge base. They respect all who come through the door with questions.
Being a woman I found it very refreshing I was not treated like an idiot! I have purchased replacement firearms from them, those terrible boating accidents can take a toll on a girl's gun collection! Once they get to know you, time to time they will bring a surprise from the vaults in the backroom!
We went in and it took for ever to get a staff person to help us (including the 2 of us, there were 3-4 customers in the store). Then, when we did get a staff person to help us, he; 1) thought girls didn't know anything about firearms, and 2) was telling us things that were incorrect about the firearm that we wanted to look at. (Like telling us that it was a different model than what was engraved on the side of the gun*.)
Plus, everything was overpriced. Definetily taking advantage of their customers with "pandemic pricing".
*Which would make sense with the Glock 19X being a combination of the 17 and the 19, but this was a revolver.

Pros
One of the cheapest FFL costs; Very friendly staff
Been having guns sent here for FFL transfers for me for a few years. Staff is great and the cost is one of the lowest in the Metro area. Great place for private party transfers. The guns they have are in good shape and of good quality.
Business can be hard to find the first time (follow the flags)
Great, cheap place with friendly staff for transfers and purchases. Hours are a little odd, but not really a problem. Just check their site for the latest. Finding the place the first time can be a challenge. Definitely look for and follow the flag signs from the road to the door...
I have driven by many times but never noticed this shop before as it is set back from the street and the signage is somewhat subdued. Anyway, spotted them the other day and decided to try them out. Took in a malfunctioning AR lower for repair. I was able to partially diagnose the problem using internet resources, but as I don't build them was unsure how to fix it. Turns out it had been improperly assembled. Phil disassembled the trigger assembly, reassembled it properly, replaced the recoil spring which was the wrong size, and tested it for proper function. All while explaining to me exactly what was wrong and what the fix was. Did it while I was waiting, only charged me for the replacement spring and no charge for labor. A very firendly and helpful guy. No "gun shop attitude" whatsoever. Great service! The shop is a little small but it is absolutely packed with all kinds of gear.
Paranoid, price gougers and typical lowball buyers/resellers

Pros
They are out of business now ( hmmmm? I wonder why)
They do have ammo, but the gouge everyone/anyone that buys it.
Cons
Typical salesman, ignore you if they "think" you are not going to buy anything.
Not much else to say. I have been there several times yet their behavior and lack of quality product (IMO) have not compelled me to purchase anything.
They no longer do consignments, one individual gave me a song and dance as to why but it was nothing more then a scheme to try and prey on those who are otherwise ignorant to the value of the item they are trying to sell. They buy the item outright from you is the new policy, wherein lies the ability to take advantage of the persons want/need to sell something. Always be weary of someone asking you "well what do you thinks it's worth?" it is with this question that they gauge how much you know about the item you are trying to sell (major trap for the seller).
They are out of business now, my guess; it is because of their piss poor business practices.
The new owners of this store purchased the Countyline gun store in McKenna and moved the store to its present location.
This is in the building that was formerly Prairie Lumber, and then a fitness/workout place.
Their inventory is a bit limited due to the times, but the staff is very helpful.
The firing range doesn't exist yet, but hopefully in the near future it will. We need one in this area.
Selection is good online and it's easy to pick up in store
I've ordered a couple of guns from the Sportsmans Warehouse website and picked them up at their Federal Way store. Overall the experience has been good - the online selection is decent and the process to get the gun in pretty easy. I would recommend them.
Great place to shoot. Lots of activities in stead of just targets. Has everything from steel pistol to 3d Archery range. Seem to always be adding things and up keep is nice.
Members seem to take pride in the range and keep it nice for the next member.
One negative thing, had two separate occasions where a range officer approached my girlfriend and said something to the affect, "Hey little sweetie, you really should hold a gun like this" or "Hey darlin, are you sure you can shoot that rifle." Just old school men being nice, but was very offensive to her as she has been shooting since she was 8 years old.
There are 3 shops that I frequent in GP and I like them all, but Doc Holidays is my favorite. Best selection in town, welcoming, and honest. I've been going there 6 years. These days it's my first stop when I feel like doing a little shopping.
