I wonder who put poor... I couldnt put excellent as much as I wanted too. Seems sometimes the prices are a little high, but to be fair, I wouldnt give any other sports shop in Lewiston a higher rating.

Even a blind pig will find a acorn once in a while....... That is all that I have to say to all of you that speak of the "great gunsmithing" that comes from Doug. We refer to them as "Gunscappers" I have seen first hand a 2k firearms that were not $500 after they have Gunsmithed in this shop. Here is a another. When Benelli first came out with the Nova I bought the first one to come in. I took it hunting that weekend and lost the Fiber-optic sight. I called around and no one had one. As a last resort I called Doug and he said that he could fix me up. Upon arrival Doug told me the gun would be ready in the morning. When I questioned why he couldnt just screw a new one into the threaded hole he replied " You can buy them in that thread" I called bullbubblegum on him and told him that he was not going to drill and re-tap my brand new shotgun. I called Benelli and told them what happened and they overnighted me three new front beads free of charge. The guy is a HACK and a disgrace to the firearm community

Im a youger guy, about 22, and have bought several guns from them. I always felt like the prices were fair. and maybe hes a jerk and ignores you. But I just make sure I have the time to go.. He did not even mind to stay open after closing hours when we called in. I think he just gets a lot of retards who come in and dont know anything, but pretend to be some gun master.

John is a good guy (all personal stuff aside LOL), the older guys don't seem to like us young chaps to much. Ok inventory, overpriced but a nice lil shop and once they see you a few times usually get used to ya!

Just bought a STI Spartan form him. Great service and good price. I ordered a 9mm Spartan from him to be picked up next week.

John has worked on four of my pistols over the past couple of years. In each case the work was very well done, reasonably priced and the communication was good.

Went in to pick up my new Benchmade Infidel and ended walking out with another Kimber and another great experience in the shop. Great guys to deal with and dont mind BS'n a little about guns, very nice time had. I think I may have to take the Kimber back in for a visit though they were sad to see it go as they were all wanting it too......

I've only dealt with this company through the gun shows, but every time its been pleasant buying from them. They really go above and beyond for costumer service and product knowledge.
I'm looking forward to the next gun show or next time I go to Corvallis.

We stumbled onto this store by accident a couple of days ago on a trip to Eugene to look for jackets. Other than one guy who seemed shocked that we wanted to look at this or that, kind of a What do you want to look at that for kind of look, but he was helpful. Rest of the staff seemed great. We were treated well. I went back the next day, and bought a holster. Nice little store. I'm thinking any store can have at least one person behind the counter that isn't well received, but I try not to let that affect my opinion if it's just one guy. I'll go back if we ever get back out to Valley River Center again.

Well thats why there is more than one type of gun,car paint or what ever..... I have known Doug at guncrafters for a long time and always had good dealings, Price is normally pretty good. Ole's gun shop gets a fair amount of my $ they have a great custom gunsmith Named Kevin who does very nice work. Jason at Blackwater tactical ( 12th and Cross0 behind salem emblem runs a great store and has the best survice anywhere.... I thought my couple times into MLC that the survice was crap and the dude running the store . was blowing alot of BS. . . . . This is a great country and you can spend your $ where and with who you like..

I stopped by the other day, on a lunch break. I'm not sure if my mistake was that I was wearing a nice suit (since I'm in sales myself, and taking time on my break to visit the store) or that I am only 30, but the greeting by the staff was as cold as stone. I tried to chat the guy behind the counter up, asking a few questions about the particular pistol I was looking for; he seemed like this interaction had basically ruined his day. Worse yet, soon as he found out I had moved here from California a few years back, he got nearly stand-offish. At that point he seemed more interested in whether or not my credentials would be in order to purchase a firearm than offering any level of customer service.

I think I'll see what the other stores in town have to offer before even considering walking back in to Mazama's again. As a high-end retailer myself, I resent the fact that any store can keep it's doors open in this recession without offering the best customer service possible.

p.s. The staff on the fishing side of the store were very friendly and helpful, they actually seemed to know more about firearms than the grumpy old-timer I had to deal with on the firearms side.

gave them excellent! gave me a fair price in trade for my rifle and got what I wanted. While I waited I asked about a sig 229 nobody else seemed able to find. 5 minutes later he had found what I wanted, and I ordered it right then. a little customer service goes a long way. thanks guys!!

I took a class from him when he was at the old location, near Freddie's.
Shortly after he moved to the present location I had him do some work on a new Commander that was spiting shells all over, & a couple stove pipes. Very happy with the work done. Turn around time was terrible, though.
Sold it, miss it, sob sob.

Bought an XD9 from them last year. Been in there probably 3 or 4 times just browsing around. Always very helpful, quick to ask if you have any questions, and are always quick to let me handle the firearms I am interested in. A+ rating I say.

I've bought and sold here. Good prices and solid customer service. Real nice guy with good advice. Really out of the way location for me though.

Met Dave today at the WAC show. Sometimes when you meet someone in the gun business and pick their brain without laying down cash, they tend to seem disingenuous. Not the case here, he treated me like a long time customer and that to me means that I will be a long time customer starting with my Kimber and Para that he will see very soon. And i will post pics when they are done.

I have dealt with GOOD GUYS GUNS off and on for many years.

They are a good bunch of guys (really). Always friendly, and helpful. They make you feel welcome in their store, not like a would be shoplifter like some other shops I have been in.

They always have a good stock on hand, although their prices are a bit high compared to other dealers.

They have recently moved to another location in Medford. I have yet to visit the new location. I am hoping the new store is larger than the old one. Much of the time you could barley move in the old shop, there was so much stuff everywhere.

Great business to deal with.

I have a Springfield Loaded that was tuned up by him and it's pretty nice. Not a lot done, just the trigger, a new mainspring housing with magwell, and extractor, but it was well done. I've also had a trigger tuned on my UCP and it turned out great. I've seen the work he's done on friend's guns and am impressed. His prices are good, and the turnaround time is very fast.
