Beautiful job re-bluing my grandmas old 300 savage. Also added swivel studs and replaced the trigger too. Super helpful and knowledgeable about his craft.

Now my son will learn on it just like I did and enjoy it all the more!
Great guy easy to work with.

Dropped off a rifle to get threaded and ended up chatting for a while. Kevin is very friendly and a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Excellent resource

Was recommended to Kevin's shop by a local gun shop. (Coat of Arms) Needed a repair done and was hoping to get it back in time for a up coming camping trip. It was a small job, but one I couldn't fix.
Kevin took care of it in time for my trip. His charge was very reasonable. Kevin is a weath of knowledge. He will be my only choice for gunsmithing needs in the future.
Top notch, meticulous gunsmith

Pros
  • One of the best around
  • Fair pricing
  • Real nice guy
Cons
  • Normally has a large backlog of work
Many years ago, I removed the stock from my Ruger M77 to clean it. I had put off doing so for several years because the rifle was sub-moa out of the box and I didn't want to mess with that. Sure enough, after installing the stock, it wasn't grouping nearly as well. I took it in and asked Kevin to see if he could get it back to the original accuracy. A week later, I went in to pick it up. Not only had he re-seated the action screw, but had bedded the action, free-floated the barrel and smoothed the trigger. A little worried, I asked him how much I owed and he said just the one hour labor minimum. It was a 3/4 moa rifle after that. Since then, he has gotten all my business for everything from minor modifications to re-barrel work. He has worked on 1911's, semi-auto rifles, and bolt actions for me and I have never been disappointed. Make sure you set expectations for turnaround time in advance.

Pros
  • Always has the knowledge to do the job right
Cons
  • Sometimes has long lead times - the best ones usually do.
First met Kevin when he was gunsmithing for Ole's Gun Shop, and followed him to his Keizer location. Haven't done a lot there lately, but always found his service to be fairly priced and the quality of work is top notch.
Great work at Kevin's

Took my rifle in to get a Holland brake installed based on a reference from my local smith who doesn't have a big enough lathe. Kevin was courteous and straight forward. He did a great job with a 1 day turnaround (not sure that is typical as he stated he just happened to be working on brakes at the time). He charged me less than half what Holland quoted me.
