I just brought home my newest old rifle.
Henry Tomes &Co....New York City , 1847.
.56 caliber , percussion back action lock , walnut full stock Plains Rifle.
Engraving on the patch box , trigger guard , toe plate and ram rod entry pipe.
Two gold bands near the breech...the breech also has engraving.

30 odd inch barrel...with decent rifling.
Double set triggers...needs a set screw...

Neat rifle for sure.
