Maybe throw out a couple brief ideas of what businesses and nature of complaint? I'm forced to watch too many of their damned commercials 3 minutes at a time every 8 minutes when I watch their station on TV, just don't want to disable my ad blocker to read their biased crap on the computer.

RE ADA complaints. How many sidewalks in potland have been blocked by homeless dregs in the past four years? We had a G-D homeless camp on our street, half a block from our home, blocking a sidewalk for near two years! And a "Zombie" house with squatters three houses away during that time!
This again is the sad case of people getting the gov they kept asking for. The homeless scum can block access, no one cares. Yet they want to go after people who actually pay taxes. Race to the bottom :(

In a service business and the constant regs and taxes, compliance reports and fees have taken something I've loved doing for 40 years into a headache and burden. My hope is to be done with it by next year because I didn't go the sole proprietor route to be a tax and compliance accountant as 25% of my job description.

Our Corp Gov't wants hard working small businesses GONE. So sick of the constant gov't notices like 'file this report by XXX date or ....... else. Never knew how much freedom to grow and thrive that I saw in the 80s and 90s was a temporary thing back in the day.

It's far easier to control 30 mega corporations than 30,000,000 small businesses.

I have a feeling a similar train wreck has been scheduled for Eugene.

1) On the current ballot there are 3 absolute lunatics running for mayor. Fn'g lunatics...

2) They slipped a measure onto the ballot for "star" voting. Read that as rank choice voting. When I opened my ballot I was surprised...I had heard nothing about it until the ballot arrived. Dishonest progressive trash attempting to create another democrat open sewer.

EDIT...Rank choice voting measure failed. 65% opposed if IRC..

The catalyst for most small business failures right now is still the C19 fear narrative. In the rear view maybe, but small businesses took on high expenses and dept to get through the draconian and useless measures.

It was a test for society as a whole, and we failed miserably. They said "jump", we asked "how high?" We gave an inch, they took a mile. And we'll never get it back.

"They don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They're not interested in that. That doesn't help them. That's against their interests. It's called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it." - George Carlin

I'd thought that Eugene had already mirrored potland? Big college town and all.

On the path but not as far along and not so openly. The level of destruction in Portland is beyond anything in Eugene. There's still some sanity here with a reasonably strong base of hold outs. But the cancer is here and it's hungry.

Seriously, I had not heard a single word about the voting change measure on the ballot until the ballot arrived. When I researched the people running for mayor I thought I was reading some sort of cartoon.

Portland's population dropped again for the third year in a row

And those leaving are taking their tax dollars with them. Liberal cities killing the goose that laid the golden egg. They are loosing the tax dollars to fund their socialist programs. What will they do? Raise taxes to fund those programs and drive away more tax payers. Brilliant!

Unless it is the conservatives that are moving. While PDX will become even more liberal, if that is possible, the neighboring counties will gain conservative votes. I know, wishful thinking!

Allegedly the Soros-sponsored DA that has allowed the rioters and tweakers in Portland to go unpunished over the last few years has been ousted in yesterday's election. The new guy campaigned on actually upholding the law (what a novel concept), but we will see if those promises survive beyond his first day in office.

Maybe some of the voters there have finally felt enough pain to wake up a little. This only happens because enough people have not yet felt enough pain.

While changing the personality in that one position will not recover the Portland that was, at least it's a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, Portland's "leadership" (I use that term very loosely) has sunk the city so far down into its current cesspool that it will take decades to recover.

And lest you think Portland's ugly reputation is only a local phenomenon, think again. Just returned from a month in Europe. When travelers meet they have a habit of ascertaining where each other hails from. Three separate times when I told European travelers I came from the Portland area their response was along the lines of, "Oh, that used to be such a wonderful city, but it has become quite awful now." Then I was sitting next to a British bloke on the flight back to PDX. I was curious what he was looking to do in Portland. "Portland? No, I'm not going to Portland. I'll be visiting my sister in the Salem area." He went on to explain that his sister has lived outside of Salem for more than 20 years and this was the fifth time he came to visit. Said he used to really enjoy coming into Portland, but now he avoids it like the plague. Why? The reasons you would guess. He doesn't feel safe there, he thinks it has become a very dirty city, and the homeless problem is out of control. I think about what Trump said regarding "sh!thole countries" and it pains me to see how Portland has become such a sh!thole city with an ugly reputation spanning the globe.
