The "Winchester" 336 part caused me to remember that on the TV show "Big Valley", a modern Marlin 336 regularly shows up in somebody's hands (even Victoria Barkley).

Speculative Director's thoughts: "It looks kinda like a Winchester with that lever-thingy on the bottom. It'll do."
