What propellant is this. I recently got some surplus ammo for my cartridge display. Two of the cartridges which I am to believe are 1943 vintage cases had this spaghetti looking propellant in them with a paper plug.
I'm quite amazed since I've never seen it before.

Cordite still used in 1943? I've never seen it before. Somehow I thought it would be a, gray maybe, Cord like material.
