.22 bolt action rifle. Shoots shorts, long, and long rifle.

Good shooter, very quiet especially with this longer barrel.

How does the safety work?

The safety works. On these rifles, there is not a conventional safety. Once a round is chambered and bolt closed you pull back the knob on the bolt assembly and twist it to the side, making it "safe".

For those interested, this is a Marlin-manufactured gun (trade name "Ranger" for Sears).

With that information (and the rear sight), I became interested. A Dad or a Grandpa needs to save me.
