Dear All - A great review, and, as far as I can judge, pretty impartial.
Now, I am now 63, going on 64, and I have had the use of the same Walther PP in .380ACP literally all my life until 1998 [it had been my dad's], when, in order to keep it, it had to be de-activated. I have it still, and won't be parted from it.
I also had a SIG P230 for a couple of years, prior to the ban, and loved that too, but never really got to admire it as much as the Walther.
This review highlights a number of points for me, not least of which is the sad and sorry fact that the US-made 'Walthers' just do not seem to have the same 'mana' as the older German-made originals. From a comment in the review, they still have QC problems too - NOT something you need on what is likely to be your 'last-chance' gun.
Also that taking a good design, as the Walther was back in 1929, and adapting it to modern needs and methods of manufacture, as SIG have done, CAN actually work.
As ever, the choice is down to the buyer, his or her physical size and abilities [the .380ACP can be a mite hard for a woman to cock], but if I was ever in the position to require a similar-sized pistol, for THIS old fart it would have to be an older Walther. Whether my wife or I were shooting it, it would put all its shots into a dollar sized cluster at ten feet - plenty accurate across the width of a car, in my case, since mine was my back-up in case of an attempt to take me out at a set of traffic lights.
My $0.02
