This is a great example of a post war rearsenaled M1 Carbine. NPM was one of the lower production manufacturers, contributing only about 6% of the total. It has the correct NPM "TN" marked stock that still has light cartouches on the right side. The trigger housing is NPM and the barrel was made by IBM, which is one of the correct manufacturers for NPM as they didn't make barrels themselves. Other parts are a mix as is commonly seen on rearsenaled carbines.
This was rebuilt at the Mt. Rainier arsenal in Washington as noted by the "MR" stamped in the left side of the stock. It has the common "upgraded" parts such as the bayo lug barrel band, flip safety, magazine catch and type 3 adjustable sight.
Overall it is a clean little carbine. It has a clean 5 lb. trigger break, which is better than most. There are no cracks or even moderate damage to the stock. The handguard fits tight. The metal retains a nicely matching dark parkerized finish. The bore is bright. One USGI 15 rd. mag included.
