I agree.
I've bought small coho from " snow pass" commercial harvest area that had similar coloring above lateral line. Pale mouth/gums consistent with coho(silvers) .

I think the baffled, rather than angry, look on its face confirms the hatchery origin.

Immature females can appear something like that, but kinda funky, hu. There can be more deviations in youngins so I was just looking at it on a "more charactristics than not" basis.

Looks like a farmed raised Coho to me...all for the reasons listed in the above posts.

Ha! So I said steelhead. He was sure it was a King, but I don't think they stock Kings in that river. Either way, he's good with the fin clip. I told him he best be sure next time he pulls it out of the river.

Can't be a steelhead, because Mr. Steelhead is a "square tail" and that is a fork tail.

White mouth. Steelhead. Might be a tad early in light of the lack of rain But coho, which it does like have dark mouths.
