Good for Colorado.

Now if only we could get this sorta thing to happen in other states.

If nothing else . please let these bans , restrictions and whatnot , serve as a reminder of ....
If one type of firearm is banned or restricted , then any type of firearm can ( will ) be banned or restricted.

THIS, sadly, seems to go over the head of a LOT of shooters. They ignore what law makers are doing thinking it will not affect them and what they own. Sooner or later it comes for them too. Then they are pissed off. :(

Like the Fudd that directly sold a rifle to another Fudd for cash in front of the ATF at the Albany 'gun/dog/jerky/snacks' show; without getting permissions from the Queens crown.

Irony was it turned out to be stolen so both lost their $2500….

Ignorance of what is happening doesn't exclude you it just makes you guilty by complacency.

Even a SCOTUS ruling won't end it.

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Pastor Martin Niemoller, 1946

Commies, trouble makers an bankers...eh that's ok with me.

Colorado and Oregon have a lot of similarities socially and politically, especially having Democrat super majorities with similar agendas and urban vs rural population distribution. We would be wise to study now they have been able to successfully push back legislation that could have easily been steamrolled.

How did they make that legislation too costly for those politicians considering it's popularity with their urban supporters? One difference I noted was that they got organized opposition that Oregon tends to lack. Perhaps the mag ban finally woke up the people that usually stay passively quiet?

They only shelved it beecause they aren't ready to poke the bear in an election year. It'll be back next year...
I believe this is more the case. Not dead... only hibernating until the timing is more politically conducive.

You have to wonder too if the so called "assault weapons" ban currently up for conference before SCOTUS doesn't play a big part. That has to be giving them a moment of pause.

It won't garner a lot of party support if they pass through legislation that is likely to be so quickly and summarily nullified. There needs to be a lapse in time for them to claim their "victory", utilize the support it generates and enough time to pass for it to be forgotten and of little consequence if it is ultimately undone.

In the end, it really has nothing to do about public safety. It's simply political theatre toward their end goal. Keep and expand their power.

Anti gun legislation is like new tax legislation - it keeps coming back until passed then never goes away. Unless SCOTUS determines an AWB to be unconstitutional the only strategy is to fight it off until the political pendulum swings the other way. You are fighting the barbarian at the gate until he dies from old age.

Even if SCOTUS nukes it they'll try to tweak for an end-run just like they're trying to dodge Bruen. Aside from wher they're blatantly ignoring it like NY and CA anyway.

I don't know much about Colorado outside of Denver or Boulder. What I saw was pretty liberal. Even if they shelved the gun bill until later, it's a win for whatever they were afraid of for now.

We get the same in Oregon and 114 has been held off for almost 2 yrs now? We can't let off either. It's sad, in my voter pamphlet, the republican offerings are pretty slim and I don't think any are in my district.
