Wonder why they have never sent a manned mission to the moon...why no other country has ever even tried. Yet we had the technology for only 3-4 years in the late 60s early 70s but not anymore.

Its not the right term... "dark side of the moon" does not exist. The Far side is the more accurate term. The moon gets sunlit on a regular basis on all sides, that is how we get lunar phases.
