CHINA ACHIEVES OVERMATCH IN SPACE-BASED WEAPONS: China has produced a space-based hypersonic weapon with unlimited range. The weapon, part of its fractional orbital bombardment program, can attack a target from any azimuth and uses a hypersonic glide vehicle to deliver its conventional or nuclear payload to the target. Admiral Charles Richard, Commander of U.S. Strategic Command, stated, "no nation in history has ever demonstrated that capability." The U.S currently has no defenses against China's fractional orbital bombardment capability. – M.M.
