"Gold Dot G2 ammo is simply unsuitable for use in a compact or subcompact pistol"
Speer released an updated G2 version 147gr but have not tried it. I am using Federal 147gr HST rounds for self defense."Gold Dot G2 ammo is simply unsuitable for use in a compact or subcompact pistol"
Good info! Thanks for posting.
I still have some older non-G2 Speer Gold Dots in 124gr and 147gr. I was talking about the first generation G2 147gr made in 2014 did not expand properly from a 3" or 4" barrel.I run Speer Gold Dot as my carry ammo. Shooting a Glock G45.
This is my answer as well. If I have any apprehensions about ammunition performance I just don't use it in my carry guns. Best to just put it to use during practice and carry something with proven performance.I still have some older non-G2 Speer Gold Dots in 124gr and 147gr. I think I will use the G2 9mm as range ammo only. I don't want to cast ballistic gel or anything like that to test like 8 boxes of G2 ammo.
