I think claiming that the BATF is allowed to come into your home and tear it up for any reason at all, because you happen to have an FFL license, is a bit of hyperbole.
The BATF is allowed to inspect your records once a year. Yes I understand that if you don't comply with requests they can get "a little unhappy" with you, but I have yet to have a BATF agent be rude to me in my place of business, home. I know a few people with FFL's, pawn shop owners, who also have no problems with the BATF. I have never heard of an inspection leaving more of a mess than needed, usually they get cranky when they are treated as invaders, be polite make sure you keep good records and all shoul be well.
