Legislation that does not seem to affect firearm rights can have a profound effect, and we should be aware of what's going on. Ranked choice voting is up for another hearing/work group on Tuesday. HB2004 would allow ranked choice voting. Proponents claim that it makes voting as easy as choosing an ice cream flavor. It actually dumbs down voting process and makes it easier to stack votes in your favor. It's ideal for those that don't want to actually learn about the ramifications of their vote but just like having warm fuzzy feelings. Do yourselves a favor and read some of the testimony. If this passes, it ensures that we'll have a liberal government for the foreseeable future.
During the same hearing, HB2107 will also be open to testimony. It's another voter registration grab by the ultra left that will allow voter registration via Oregon Health Authority. Read the testimony yourself to see some of the ramifications. Bills like this are the camels nose under the tent. We already have significant issues with election integrity. Laws like this makes it even easier to stack the deck.
Both of these bills are examples of how the left seizes and solidifies power. At the very least, submit testimony and make some phone calls. These two are more reasons for the House to walk out to deny quorum.
If we ignore these bills, don't be surprised when the nooses get even tighter.
