Oregon (/ˈɔːrᵻɡən/ AWR-ə-gən) is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Oregon is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the north by Washington, on the south by California, on the east by Idaho, and on the southeast by Nevada. The Columbia River delineates much of Oregon's northern boundary, and the Snake River delineates much of the eastern boundary. The parallel 42° north delineates the southern boundary with California and Nevada. It is one of only three states of the contiguous United States to have a coastline on the Pacific Ocean, and the proximity to the ocean heavily influences the state's mild winter climate, despite the latitude.
Oregon was inhabited by many indigenous tribes before Western traders, explorers, and settlers arrived. An autonomous government was formed in the Oregon Country in 1843, the Oregon Territory was created in 1848, and Oregon became the 33rd state on February 14, 1859. Today, at 98,000 square miles, Oregon is the ninth largest and, with a population of 4 million, 26th most populous U.S. state. The capital of Oregon is Salem, the second most populous of its cities, with 160,614 residents (2013 estimate). With 609,456 residents (2013 estimate), Portland is the largest city in Oregon and ranks 29th in the U.S. Its metro population of 2,314,554 (2013 estimate) is 24th. The Willamette Valley in western Oregon is the state's most densely populated area, home to eight of the ten most populous cities.
Oregon's landscape is diverse, with a windswept Pacific coastline; a volcano-studded Cascade Range; abundant bodies of water in and west of the Cascades; dense evergreen, mixed, and deciduous forests at lower elevations; and a high desert sprawling across much of its east all the way to the Great Basin. The tall conifers, mainly Douglas fir, along Oregon's rainy west coast contrast with the lighter-timbered and fire-prone pine and juniper forests covering portions to the east. Abundant alders in the west fix nitrogen for the conifers. Stretching east from central Oregon are semi-arid shrublands, prairies, deserts, steppes, and meadows. At 11,249 feet (3,429 m), Mount Hood is the state's highest point, and Crater Lake National Park is Oregon's only national park.

THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE
Senate Bill 348, Prozanski's omnibus anti-gun bill, is now scheduled for a "work session" on Monday at 1pm.
Work sessions are where bills are amended and passed to the floor for a vote of the entire Senate.
The Senate Judiciary Committee has a...
Hi folks,
I count myself as pretty savvy with internet searches / queries ... I can't seem to find a definitely answer to this so thought I'd post to ask. This is in regards to Oregon. Let me give you a scenario. Assume the threat is real in both scenarios, that I have moral grounds, and use...
Got this notification this morning. Sounds like our govt is trying to push through without due legal process.
PEOPLE'S RIGHTS - CALL TO SHOW UP - Today 3/27 at the capital in Salem *12:30pm in Hearing Room D and/or *4;30pm in Hering Room A
See last night's email about SB348 for more...
All Oregon residents,
This really burns me. The committee leaders are trying their hardest to try and rush things through to give our side as little opportunity as possible to organize and respond.
Therefore please DO post this in at least one other thread on reddit, or on another forum that...
This is an Editorial and informational alert primarily about HB2005. This legislation is being sold as outlawing "ghost guns". If you read it carefully there are at least two other major changes buried in the text over and above the outright ban on an individual's ability to make their own...

What are the chances of...
State Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum has filed suit against 3 counties declaring themselves 2A sanctuaries. She scored a victory today when a state appeals court struck down Columbia County's 2A sanctuary measure.

I was wondering about someone adding a pistol grip to a mossberg shockwave. One could add a +3 or +5 magazine extension with the pistol grip to keep the OAL over 26”, but would the pistol grip turn it into a pistol grip shotgun? I’m thinking yes, but there might be some loophole I’m not aware...
from the lawyer representing GOA:
Received at 9:55 am. We will most likely have a decision tomorrow on Defendants' Petition for Mandamus.
This decision will ultimately determine whether or not the Preliminary Injunction and TRO that Gun Owners of America secured for the people of Oregon will...
(Editing because I accidentally closed the last one, and wanted to adjust the price to $400 for quicker sell)
This gun is freaking awesome, and in very good condition. Wood furniture is in really good shape, and the bore is nice and shiny in excellent shape. You might be hard pressed to find...
I did a lot of searching and couldn’t find this info. I know near the original start date there was a 30 day stay, but that’s the last I heard, and it’s been more than 30 days.
Do we need a permit to buy guns yet?
I want one more shotgun but refuse to get a permit. Is it too late?
If not...

A new bill has been introduced that looks to destroy the barriers that prevent the ATF from explicitly maintaining a searchable digital database.
The Crime Gun...
Does converting a pistol with brace to sbr mean you can't carry it concealed (with a chl) in OR?
Also any changes to ability to carry loaded (concealed or otherwise) in vehicle?
Thx!
Just curious about how lgs are stocking magazines. Specifically those in and around Pendleton.
I am returning from a non free State and am hoping I can still purchase 30 round mags.
Let me start by saying that from my understanding of the text of the 2A, anything less than "Constitutional Carry" is by definition, an infringement.
That being said, I saw a poll on here a month or so ago where people were saying they would not purchase from FFLs in the future if M 114's...
Matt Gaetz wants to end the ATF, but some of what he says is questionable. At least he has a plan. o_O

While it has a snowball's chance in hell of becoming law, there is a bill introduced in the Oregon legislature that would exempt C&R licensees from the SB 941 BS. Details here.
Just passing it along. Cheers. :s0155:
It states a person commits the crime of unlawful paramilitary activity if the person displays or demonstrates to another person the use, application or making of any firearm, exposive or incendiary device capable of causing death or injury to persons and intends or knows that such devices or...
