George Washington (February 22, 1732 (N.S.) – December 14, 1799) was an American political leader, military general, statesman, and founding father who served as the first president of the United States from 1789 to 1797. Previously, he led Patriot forces to victory in the nation's War for Independence. He presided at the Constitutional Convention of 1787, which established the U.S. Constitution
and a federal government. Washington has been called the "Father of His Country" for his manifold leadership in the formative days of the new nation.
Washington received his initial military training and command with the Virginia Regiment during the French and Indian War. He was later elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses and was named a delegate to the Continental Congress, where he was appointed Commanding General of the Continental Army. He commanded American forces, allied with France, in the defeat and surrender of the British during the Siege of Yorktown. He resigned his commission after the Treaty of Paris in 1783.
Washington played a key role in adopting and ratifying the Constitution and was then elected president (twice) by the Electoral College. He implemented a strong, well-financed national government while remaining impartial in a fierce rivalry between cabinet members Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. During the French Revolution, he proclaimed a policy of neutrality while sanctioning the Jay Treaty. He set enduring precedents for the office of president, including the title "Mr. President", and his Farewell Address is widely regarded as a pre-eminent statement on republicanism.
Washington owned slaves, and, in order to preserve national unity, he supported measures passed by Congress to protect slavery. He later became troubled with the institution of slavery and freed his slaves in a 1799 will. He endeavored to assimilate Native Americans into Anglo-American culture but combated indigenous resistance during occasions of violent conflict. He was a member of the Anglican Church and the Freemasons, and he urged broad religious freedom in his roles as general and president. Upon his death, he was eulogized as "first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen". He has been memorialized by monuments, art, geographical locations, stamps, and currency, and many scholars and polls rank him among the greatest U.S. presidents.
I was in a few gun stores recently and I noticed some new buyers browsing. While I overheard their conversation about their required features the voice in my head is telling me to help them but at the same time I know it is not my place to overstep. She wanted an all metal gun and this a small...
So I've finally decided to SBR a lower and if all works out well I may follow up with another. Trying to E-file but not sure exactly where to start. My only experience in NFA has been with suppressors and Form 4s where I had the privilege of dealing with silencer shop and their kiosk system. The...
Includes everything it came with and extra parts. Spring replacement was recommended in xxx round intervals so the extra was purchased in advance. Never been fired enough to even be close. This pistol has barely been fired at all.
tastefully modified. Amazing for edc and home defense.

I spent the last two weeks in the free states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Instead of my normal compact concealed carry piece, I opted for my P229 in a OWB holster, and in some places my 460 magnum in a shoulder holster, grizzly country after all.
For the most part, not a single care was...

I bike once in a while and have been looking for solutions to bring something for self defense. Especially after being attacked by three dogs while riding years ago... I was lucky to get out of that one alive, and have the missing parts of my leg as a reminder. I bought a bag that straps to the...
I've been on for a while, but following another Facebook ban I find myself with enough spare time to joy something down. Anyways, I'm a auto shop owner in Hillsboro and a resident of Frosty Grave (Forest Grove), long time gun owner and enthusiast.
I like NFA stuff, AR's, CZ's, and anything...

Like title says looking for a first focal plane Mil Mil scope. Top end magnification from 12-20. I’ve got a Savage 22lr set up to trade or a decent stash of Pmags. Was hoping to stay in the sub $500 range but probably depends on what’s brought to the table.
I've been shooting for nearly 60 years, and reloading my own ammo for 36 years. I've never before stuck a bullet in a barrel. Yesterday, I had my first.
Shooting cast bullet 9mm Luger loads in a Colt Government Model. I'd already fired 50 jacketed bullets, then another 43 cast bullet...
I am not a huge knife collector and the prices on some leave me a little shocked, not saying they're not good or the market isn't at that point. I've just gotten by with my Old Timer Sharpfingerls and a couple pocket knives and never needed more.
Lately I have been looking for a self defense...
