Colt Python / Trooper MK3 grips interchange?

I have a Colt trooper mk3 and dislike the stock grips. Can I use colt python grips on my trooper? Is there any grips that are not so large on the bottom?

I had a king cobra which I believe had the same grip frame. Pachmeyer makes several rubber grips with a smaller heel. I think they're called the compac or gripper models. Hogue makes them also but I found them to be much bulkier. Hope that helps.
