Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
I have been going to A-Cut-Above for longer than I've lived in the area and always have, at worst, neutral experiences. They post their prices and stick to the script. I have never been surprised by anything here and usually the experience is pleasant.
I have done more transfers than purchasing firearms here but as of late they have had a pretty good selection of musical instruments, and have purchased a few guitars and amps from them.
The prices seem a little on the higher side but that's the price we have to pay to have retail brick-and-mortar stores available to us. Also, it could very well be that their prices are very reasonable and I am unreasonbly expecting prices from 20 years ago.
Rogue Gunn works is a great Olympic Peninsula resource. Armi is knowledgeable and skilled, providing friendly excellent old school customer service.
He worked with me, answering all my questions while he set up and tuned my suppressed .300 BLK SBR, doing so in a timely and affordable manor. He also corrected a poorly executed 10mm SBR upper build purchased from an out of State source.
He gave honest advice and/or opinion when asked or needed. I've learned a lot from him and I'll definitely make use of his expertise in the future.
Went in to check for firearm transfer services. They've currently suspended person to person transfer due to BGC challenges. Can't fault them for that.
Consigned firearms with them to avoid the personal transfer headache. Went well, but had to check back in to get the payout for the final sale. Small hiccup, but would still recommend them.
Had these guys do a private party tranfer and backround check done. Lots of cool stuff in the shop. Contacted me as soon as my check cleared will use them again.
I shopped at Precise when they opened on Aurora in Seattle, when they moved to Lynnwood, and at their current location in Woodinville.
Their pricing for new products is essentially my benchmark. I have placed a number of special orders with them and their pricing has always been great. I no longer live or work nearby, so don't get by regularly. Always have a browser tab open on the Precise website. Being able to see pricing and availability for sooo many brands from multiple distributors is great. Pricing on private party transfers or transfers from other websites is really pretty great as well.
The special order process was simple. Email what you want from their site, call in with a deposit, get an email when its time to do paperwork, and then pickup. Ordering from someone else and shipping to them, pretty much the same process.
Haven't picked anything up from them in around a year, but they are always on my radar. Can be busy, but I think that's a reflection of the value they provide. Great shop.
I may be biased when it comes to this particular review as I have been a customer since I was 19. I am 26 now and I always come back to ORW. Their prices are fair when it comes to the market sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. They have a great staff. I highly recommend them.
Went to transfer a person to person firearms sale with this FFL and after they "FINALLY" got the paperwork done told us that the seller had to take the guns home until the buyer was cleared and then the seller had to bring back in the guns to complete the transfer (1hr away), The paper work and fees were already completed when they told us their policy, Other than taking forever to complete the process (over an hour easy) the guy that worked there let us stand around while he roamed the store looking dumb, The one lady who eventually helped us was nice and I really did not have a problem with her but the rest were unknowledgeable and worthless to say the least, STAY AWAY>>>> Revised Review: The owner of the Capital Pawn businesses is concerned enough to reach out about this review making sure people get the best experience from their dealings with his company and We all know how hard it is to find good employees, That is the reason I did not throw all of his locations in with my review, Again the girl behind the main counter was good and helpful but the guy that worked? there on 04/19/24 around noon was terrible, All that I ask is to let people know your policy before the process starts and hold employees to a at least more courteous standard….
Firearm transfers are a disaster. Took 3 hours of both the seller and the buyers time. No wonder they want paid up front. I'll never darken their doorway again.
I will update my review as at least the owner is concerned about their reputation and called me. Great guy and great communication. Very hard to find good help and government policies make it very hard to protect your business. I understand their concern about doing the right thing, but will not do business as other FFL transfers take a fraction of the time. I don't know the answer and am quite sure things about firearms are not going to get easier. Don't know the answer but the owner of Capital Pawn is a stand up guy!
Went there today for the First time to transfer a firearm. went super smooth and the transfer fee was very reasonable. The guys there were super friendly ended up staying there after the transfer and just chatting with the guys.
I've known the owner for over 20yrs. and purchased my first 12guage Remington wingmaster here. Ralph has also given me a fair price when I sold him weapons. They also buy gold/silver and carry ammunition. Check out their products.
