It's an old 1950's drama with Ray Milland, but nevertheless very startling and educational. The theme is that Los Angeles gets nuked, and all of the surviving surrounding communities flee for the hills while society breaks down---and what this means in actual practice for a family just slightly ahead of the curve. Yes, it's a corny old family drama from the Fifties, but it is VERY instructive....................elsullo
This one is by far my favorite. It may seem corny for today's standards, but when the SHTF and all 21st century lines of communication we are accustomed to go down (internet, cell phones, you name it), we'll be right back to how these people communicated on a day to day basis --- face to face or a very localized phone network, if it still works.
