In the past several weeks I have been losing sleep over preparing for the worst. I'm not talking about natural disasters, I'm talking about TEOTWAWKI due to the push for socialism. About all of the stuff that seems to be happening in our country that our founding fathers would be rolling over in their graves about. Freedom of speech, Guns-The strongest reason for the people to retain their right to keep and bear arms is as a last resort to protect themselves against tyranny in government (Thomas Jefferson)

When do we reach that point where the shot that is heard around the world!? When do we know it is time to take our country back? Do you believe there will be an uprising? A civil war? Do you think any of the states will step up and say "we don't want to be a part of this anymore"? Does any of what I'm saying frighten any of you?

I'm not crazy. I'm not against America. Just really concerned.

We are all gun people... This is totally relevant to all of us.

Dude, you aint'crazy. But don't lose sleep over it.just stock up on foodstuffs, ammo, some sort of shelter away from the home.We will all see it coming when it comes.Unless it is a nuke, then it won't matter,we'll all be dead. The best advice I can give is to be calm,no matter what happens, and think about your family first.Fuc# the rest of the world until your family is good. Then go kick some ***.Any real American feels the same way. That's what we do.If and when a revolution comes,if you and your family are strong together,we,together will take our country back.I think our citizens are stronger than the govt.We have way more heart(obviosly)way more gumption, and WAY more strength.

He also noted he had been predicting the demise of the world's wealthiest country for more than a decade now.

But he said the recent economic turmoil in the U.S. and other "social and cultural phenomena" led him to nail down a specific timeframe for "The End" — when the United States will break up into six autonomous regions and Alaska will revert to Russian control.

I wonder if they'll let Palin maintain control when they (try to) annex Alaska...

You are not crazy...enrollement for our Wilderness Skills for a Potentially Hostile Environment series of courses is going off the scale the last couple years and since BHO has been elected it is even accelerated more. We're not just getting young married couples either...we have senior adults enrolling and wanting to learn how to live in an urban or wilderness setting during times of civil unrest due to a natural or manmade disaster. It is unbelievable.

I agree there is a hightened sense of concern, and the idea of wilderness training is an excellent idea. I was a former member of a search and rescue team years ago and wished I had kept up on that training. I need a refresher.

But really it's a matter of time before our country is torn between two sides.
Since the beginning of time civilizations have risen and fallen. Ours is just getting to the downfall. I can see our countries structure starting to break apart and as we fight and confuse our rights and freedoms other countries will come in and aim to further de-stabilize us. Russia is a perfect example. Sooner or later the big, bad Americans will fall.

Can we prevent it? Of course, but people by nature reach for power and as long as we disagree, fight, and have different belief of what this country should be, or will become, we will continue to spiral down.

Oh well, life sucks, enjoy it while it last. I feel sorry for our children.

Awesome letter, lol

I may be biased, but before TEOTWAWKI happens, you all might want to buy an AK or two...people can say whatever they want about 'em, but in a survival environment, you don't want a weapon that has to be cleaned after every time it's fired.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to slam the AR...I have a couple myself... but I've had problems enough with 'em to really appreciate Russian reliability.

Although I am partial to ARs, I would have to agree with you. AKs are like glocks, you can trash it and when you pull that trigger death in on the other end. There's a reason there the most wanted gun by militants and guerillas around the world.
I would still buy American before Russian, but that AK would be a second purchase.

I had to sell my AR and would prefer that gun over any. But there is a lot of things that can and will go wrong with them. Springs, extractor, and of course you can't shoot that dirty Wolf through it.

When the SHTF you don't want to tryo to find specific ammo, you want any and all.

Good luck finding ammo. Seems that most online places are either out of stock or it is backordered (same thing). And it's not just 5.56, it's 7.62, .308. A lot of centerfire cartridge and magazine fed rounds are coming up short. Hope someone out there stockpiked some stuff just in case. I sure didn't.

What about mini14's with reference to reliability?

Yeah I hit bimart on thursdays. And they said if you call thursday morning they will hold what you want, just have to pick it up that day.

Now that I told you my secret I will probably never see another box (insert sad face here)

Urban legend at best...

Haven't cleaned mine in over 2,000 rounds......keep the bolt carrier wet, it'll go to close to 10,000 without a cleaning. If it does get dirty, it'll push out the grime.

Just got to go with quality out the door from the get go....

I had a Mini 14 for a while and had a folding stock and expensive 40 rounds mags, it always jammed on me. I spent a lot of money and I think it was a combo of the stock and mags I had. I wasn't impressed though.

My dad has had one for years and never had a problem.

It may sound wacked, but even if a guy was to have a 22lr and put a lot of rounds down range, it would be cheap, lots of ammo available and would still hurt. Thoughts?

Mini-14's are tough as they come, just don't have the reputation for being very accurate.

A 22lr? Ya know, if you're a sharp shooter with it, it'll work.

in that case I would get a 10/22 with a bull barrel a 3x9 scope about 10-15 butler creek mags find a ridge and post up but make sure you have a .308 next to you just in case.
