We are always hearing about this or that violating someone's Constitutional Rights. Anti-gunners say that there is NO Constitutional Right to own firearms. Pro-abortionists say that the Constitution has iron-clad protections for their so-called abortion Rights. Anti-Christians say that the Constitution calls for "separation of church and state". Judges use their personal and perverted interpretations of the Constitution in order to over-rule voters who enact laws or rules that either those who govern us or the judge do not like. There is so much confusion about the Constitution.
So, what is the purpose of the Constitution?
Well, we know that in the Declaration of Independence the writers said: "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness..."
So, the Constitution does not give Rights! Those Rights come from the CREATOR! The Constitution was written only to spell out those UNALIENABLE RIGHTS that God gave to all people, not just Americans! Therefore what MAN has not given, MAN cannot change or take away!
Thomas Jefferson said that one purpose of the Constitution is to (paraphrasing here) 'chain up the government"!
The Constitution is written in plain English which needs NO "INTERPRETATION", and, being given by the Creator, is like the Creator - "...the same yesterday, today and forever"!
We have NO Constitional Rights!

No, the Constitution AFIRMS your Right to free speech. As dario541 said, our rights are Given to us by Our Creator and reaffirmed in the Constitution. Man cannot give or take away our Rights, unless we allow him.

whatever :s0112::s0112::s0112: Men did write the document up and men can destroy it. While yes our rights do come from God, men have allways tried to take from other men what God has given.

This is correct. The Constitution affirms what are rights granted from the Creator. The 1st amendment tells the government what they are not allowed to do. "Congress shall make no law..." That is a pretty bold statement. "...shall not be infringed." Also a very bold statement.

The term "Creator" and "Nature's God" were very specifically used by the founders. They are not Christian or any other organized religion per se. They are Diest by default. Therefore no formal belief in God is required only the recognition that men follow natural law.

Exactly, creator can just as well mean that you are a creation of earth, evolution, the universe, yo momma, etc..
 
You can argue that the reason God/Creator does NOT appear the actual Constitution is the influence of founding fathers like Jefferson, who were free thinkers influenced by the Enlightenment and definitely not religious in the traditional sense.

In fact, in other documents Jefferson specifically rejected references to Jesus because generic terms like "Creator" that aren't specifically biblical terms were designed to reflect every religion and none.

Well, I had a long post picking apart most of the things the OP said, instead I will just explain to everyone on the forums why there is even a gun issue. All of us pro-gun rights people have it wrong, this is the actual interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.:s0155:

You know.. not to turn too many of these arguments on their heads, however, there really are two schools of thought when it comes to the concept of natural law, and the nature of man. For the most part, our nation is built upon the ideas of social contract theory, much of this was set out by John Locke, the whole concept of our liberal democracy is based on his writings.

If you ever want to read something quite frightening, read Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes, while on the one hand it lays some of the ground work for Locke, it in many ways, reinforces the supremacy of the state as embodied by a sovereign.

While I don't want to be a killjoy on all this God, and bear arms talk... the more important issue facing our country today is one which involves the consent of the governed, which under the "most transparent administration the people have ever seen" is sorely lacking.

As much as I hate to quote Rush Limbaugh ad hominem, he makes a very compelling point when he talks about the present state of the "ruling elites". Our country under the ladership of the democratic party has taken in a very hobbsian direction, one which scares the crap out of me, and should do the same to everyone who thinks.

America is a unique place in that we can have a minor revolution every 2 years, and a major one every 4, and no blood is spilled in the process. It is essential to all of us that it stay this way, and ladies and gentlemen, it's time for a minor revolution, one in which none of us have to trivialize the rights bestowed on us by our creator, and enumerated in the amendments to the constitution.
 
Although some of you don't believe in the Creator, that is your Right. However, the founding Fathers did give God the credit for a FREE COUNTRY! They did not claim to be the ones who provide "Human Rights". They enumerated in the Constitution what they believed came from the Creator! Fortunately, they did not suffer from "I" trouble the way that modern legislooters and bureaurats do.
Somewhere I have a report of a Judge who ruled that American citizens get their Rights from the Government. That's outrageous! During my life I have watched the Government getting more and more tyranical every day! I don't have nearly as much liberty as I did as recently as the 1950's.

Facts are facts, we don't get to state things we make up as if they are facts. I suppose the 1rst amendment can be taken to mean that lying is protected, or that being in error is protected, and since we all make mistakes that is probably just.

But I am pretty sure we are seeing a recent outbreak of distortions of history going on all around us. To break the value of the constitution people are saying that the founders were all deist, which is not true at all. There were some, but even those few were happy to give homage to the God of the bible.

A lot of things are being said now days that are designed to tear our heroes down, and folks, these people were true heroes! Many of them lost everything they owned to help free us of tyranny, and of course many of them lost their lives.

Thomas Jefferson didn't hold animosity against Christianity, his letter to the Danbury Baptist association ends thus;

"I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem."

Did Jefferson respect those who prayed for him? Yes, and he reciprocated!

These people want to make him out to be an enemy of God, and it just ain't so folks!

What is true is that we are seeing a renewed national attempt to misinform others in the hope that they will not appreciate the sacrifices of the founders, many of them, I dare say most, were believers in Jesus Christ.
The blessings of this nation come from "Our Creator" because of a reverence and fear of the majority of the people of that time towards that Creator, mostly of the Christian faith. The first people who came here from England to live here came here to escape the kind of religious persecutions that were common in Europe in that time.

I think it is safe to say that people, average people, of the first 150 years of American history were much more given to prayer than most of us today, in fact it was normal to fast during times of prayer, to ensure the earnestness required.

And, finally, I believe that the facts are being distorted by those who have an agenda, from wanting to turn this into a socialist state to those who just hate their Creator God, and lo and behold! Our once great and blessed country is falling apart!

Small wonder.
