If I remember right they considered the life span 350 rounds however during war time they shot as many as 1000 before they changed them out

The best things about shooting at something with a 16" shell is that (1) you really can't miss and (2) you won't have to do much in the way of BDA.

Called for fire with one of these once. Heard the booms way off in the distance and then listened as the freight trains came crashing in on a target 2 miles away. Ruined their day.

You should shine it up and put it in your living room.

That's what I thought too, but the ship stays put and that is a shock wave sent out from the ships hull.
