xd40 mag wont fit subcompact?

Ive done the research and cant find a clear answer, I have 4 xd 40 magazines but 2 out of the 4do not fit correctly. They appear to be the exact same but dont slide in easily and its a struggle to get them out. ive never actually tried shooting with them. are these maybe xdm mags, or was this a common problem?

xd compact and xdm magazines look similar, but not same. you can tell the difference.

possibly .45 magazine? does it have same bullet indicator hole (numbers)?

yes has the same round count holes.
