Anyone have any more info on this?
The biggest sin now is to be intolerant, except of course intolerance of Christian sentiments, that's OK.
Intolerance will NOT be tolerated!
We certainly don't want to offend any muslims!
WOW!!! They sure put the Christians and Veterans in there place!!! Lost in court, lost in another court, then got no love from The Supreme Court. So whats next? Go out at night and steal it like a coward. I'm sure there women are proud.
I'm quite sure this was the work of some stinky dredlocked hipsters.
You must mean filthy dreadlocked hippies - hipsters don't generally associate with those types.
But I agree. Either a far-left idiot or some kids who just want to piss people off.
Wasn't it the ACLU or some other outfit that raised the stink about it?
I wasn't implying it was, but rather that it's not ok to disrespect of any group except Christians, a bit of drift for sure.
The $35,000 reward may shake some criminal loyalty off someone who knows about who did this. It's not about Christianity, it's about a 70 year old mark of our appreciation for those who died in the service of their country. But we have bred a new class of people whose anti Christian ideology causes them to be blinded to such ideals as respect for the dead heroes of our country.
If I found them..they could keep the reward.. just give me 5 minutes alone with them...
There is no way to tell what they look like, how they worship, nor is there a way to guess their political slant. Cowards. I do know they are cowards.
People are calling this vandalism(and it is that) but when these fools are caught I think we will find a political side to this un-American act.
Personally I think this constitutes a hate crime.
Someone hated the cross, the Veterans and the Christians.
Furthermore they showed no respect for the SCOTUS and/or the rule of law.
A hate crime conviction will put them away for a long time, carrying a mandatory sentence.
I can't really say that I am surprised. Both sides of the aisle have morons willing to do anything to help and not smart enough to recognize that their efforts hurt mostly themselves. (I just hope that it wasn't some group of conservatives who stole it to make the other side look bad.)
If the cross is never found, my bet is that a new bigger cross will be put in the place of the old one.
I hope that a new memorial, bigger and better, is raised upon that spot to continue to honor the sacrifices of fallen veterans! I hope it has a new shape so that it honors ALL of the different faiths of ALL of the veterans and does not select and promote only one religion over all of the others. Myself, I'd love to see a giant flag pole with the American Flag flying day and night, representing the best intentions of all of us...........................elsullo
replace it with a 100 foot cross. Electrified.
This made me angry when I heard that some hyper-sensitive tard was suing to get this taken down. It makes me furious that somebody or a group of somebodies would sink to the level of desecrating a war memorial. I say screw the hate crime. This is treason. Even if you don't agree with the war, you best damn respect those that have fought and died for this country. After Doubletap gets his 5 minutes, I want mine!
You wont find a much bigger proponent for the separation of church and state than myself.
Having said that, whoever stole this cross needs to be prosecuted the same way they would if they had taken a sledge hammer to the Vietnam Wall.
This was a long standing monument raised BY veterans FOR veterans.
