I came across this and I found this very interesting. Up until now on my reading about WW2 I have never read anything about this. I guess it proves even though I am 67 you are never too old to learn something new, I found it a very interesting read.

It talks about post war surplus. Having grown up with WWII, Korean, and Vietnam surplus all around me. I found it answered some questions I've had since I was a kid.

The whole Pacific theater was a scratch operation from the start.

In the Battle for Guadalcanal, Admiral Earnest King is described as: "he shaves with a blowtorch"

Sounds like an intense guy.
