I am expecting a birthday present soon in 38-40 WCF and finding out cowboy ammo and reloading materials are hard to find or expensive as heck.

I'm looking to buy (or trade, if you have a need tell me and I'll see if I have it).

Looking for factory cowboy ammo, brass, bullets in .401, dies, mold, etc., etc.

Starline brass is taking orders now for 38-40 brass for delivery this month. Excellent brass for a good price, get it while it's there. Check with Pat at Badman Bullets, he has cast bullets at $49 for 500 and he's here in Oregon.

Thanks. I looked at Starline a couple hours ago and all I saw were 250 piece lots. I'll check again. I was hoping to find a few by next week.

Frankly, this is a 122 year-old rifle and I doubt I'll shoot it 20 times, so 250-500 of anything is more than I need.

A Lee 3 die set can be had for as little as $30 from <broken link removed> .

Laser-Cast makes a 180 grain RN FP and shows load data in their book: http://oregontrailbullet.com/shop/

I no longer see their load book offered for sale so here are the relevant pages:
