Please write your congress creature and tell them to vote against war with Syria. Here is the letter I'm sending out. Feel free to copy it, modify it, or write your own.

Dear _________

I am writing to urge you to not support military action by the united states of America in Syria. Although, I do not support the Assad regime, there is compelling evidence that reveals the following:

The "rebel" Free Syrian Army is a division of al-Qaeda.

Chemical weapons were provided by Saudis to the FSA.

The FSA did not know how to handle the chemical weapons resulting in an accident that caused Syrian civilian casualties as well as the deaths of 12 FSA fighters.

Al-Qaeda members have documented and taken responsibility for the chemical weapons attacks on their personal YouTube channels.

Syria does not pose a threat to any single state in the American union.

Also, please consider that it makes absolutely no sense that Assad would attack the people of Syria. Even if he did how does that make an attack against Syria by the American union any different? Just look at the countless and ever growing civilian casualties caused by usA military action in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan from drone strikes and depleted uranium weapons. Seriously, are the people of Fallujah better off today than they were under Hussein? Were wmds ever found?

In addition, Russia, China, and Iran have expressed support of Syria as it is clear that American military action in Syria is an act of aggression against them as well. This could lead to a worldwide conflagration and I mean that literally as these countries have thermonuclear weapons. The Iranian government has warned that it would set Israel on fire if Syria is attacked.

Obviously, military action in Syria will result in massive civilian casualties and possibly cause global thermonuclear war. What is to be gained from taking such a risk?

Surely, you noticed that I have referred to the union as the usA instead of the USA. I'm hoping to remind you that the union of sovereign nation states has mutated into a single imperialistic regime that is no longer controlled by congress, but global mega-banks and the military industrial complex. Leon Panetta, on record, stated that congressional approval was not needed to take the American union into war.

You have been given the opportunity to vote in congress on whether or not to go to war with Syria. Undoubtedly, intelligence will be presented to congress in an attempt to get you to support war. Think of the lies that have been told in the past to convince congress and Americans to support military action. From weapons of mass destruction and infanticide in Iraq to Viagra fueled rape platoons in Libya, the lies are carefully planned psy-ops to elicit support for war. Don't be fooled!

Not only is war with Syria immoral and unsubstantiated, it will also drive the USA deeper into debt. Monetized debt to fund military conquests enslaves current and future generations who have no voice whatsoever in how much of their money they can keep (should they be fortunate enough to have a job). The time is coming when people realize that these are not THEIR debts, but the utter theft of their wealth by the banks and the military industrial complex.

The federal government has been at war for most of my adult life. Even when I was 20 I understood that the Gulf War was all about protecting some rich guy's oil resources. Here I am middle aged and I've seen the so called American Dream slip away. Fortunately, I have an understanding of economics, I know how this has happened (the taxation of the middle class to fund imperialist wars), and I know the solution: non-intervention in foreign entanglements.

You have an opportunity to do the right thing on September 9th. It is likely that Obama will move forward with war against Syria even without congressional support, but that will just reveal to everyone that there is no longer a constitutional republic in America.

Myself and other activists will be paying attention to the vote. We will shine a light on the war pigs as we work to return control of our lives and our labor to ourselves. Please vote against any kind of aggression against the Syrian people.

Sincerely,

The People Obama wants to help are al Quaida.
There is no one saying much about that.
That is the enemy of all free countries and the
ones we have been fighting.
Not much about helping anyone over there makes any sense at all.
Unless you are a muslim.
This entire scene is just plain BOGUS !

The U.S. is all about money and the money your representatives gets more important than your letter. Oil and natural gas pipelines . The big corporations profit greatly with the blood on the people who know no better.

Might as well be a ship in a bottle. Congress is bought and paid for by the military industrial complex care of our Oligarchs.

No offense Burt but I have to ask this and do not mean to attack you by doing so. Why do you still live in this country? From what I have read of your post regarding political, governmental, American education, citizen rights, financial/the American dollar, state laws and other similar issues, you have deep personal viewpoints, opinions, and some advised facts to support your opinions and disapprovals. Yet, most of the time, your facts, rebuttals, and source of argument are very far out there. You use You Tube videos to strengthen your arguments, but from sources that could hardly be known as highly trustworthy and factional. Don't get me wrong, I like some of your concerns but I do not see a lot of educational, factual, well orchestrated solutions. Finger pointing, only giving third hand information, and mostly negative information....kind of gets old seeing from the same person time after time? So, if you had a choice, where would you move to that had a system, government, and policies that would suit your long listed criteria for your idea of the ideal place to work, live and enjoy life? Or is there such a place that would allow you to simply live life happily? Hope I didn't tick you off, but if someone asked me to describe you as a member from this board, only from your posts, I would have to say, "CONSPIRESY".

The senate already passed the resolution behind closed doors in a closed session. They dont give a damn what over 80% of Americans want. That is the demarxist way.
Congress is just the dog & pony show before obummer gets us into the armageddon war. There is NO representation any longer.
People need to remember when that happened last.
OBAMBAM is aiding the same group that attacked us on 9-11.
wtf

I have to take issue with the first sentence in your statement. From everything I've read, the resolution passed out of committee 10-7. Some of the classified briefings were held behind closed doors, but the vote was public. The resolution has not yet been voted on by the full Senate. Unless you have information stating otherwise you can link to?

Maybe he has a greater purpose.

thereddog,

Your letter is way too long, I did not even read it. Congress critters do not really care about details, they are getting thousands or hundreds of thousands of letters, phone calls, e-mails, they only really care about:

No-do not bomb Syria or Yes-do bomb Syria

On some issues education can be useful but they want the Reader's Digest version of everything.

IMHO

Why do you still live in this country?
Because I love America and what it should have been and know that only chance this place has, albeit a .0001% chance at this point, is truth.

Apathy and delusion is what wrecked this country. False patriotism. willful ignorance and rose colored glasses did nothing to save it.

It is pure delusion to believe that a letter to a Congressman will change anything. Congress was bought off long ago as was our current/past puppets in the white house.

If politicians and politics make you believe you have some input, some freedom of choice, it is serving its purpose. A slave that believes he is free (or has a say) is always the best slave.

"Forget the politicians. Politicians are there to make you think you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have owners. They own you." - George Carlin

The only two members of Congress in the last fifteen years who were not completely owned and directed by the banksters was Cynthia McKinney and Ron Paul.

If you are sending a letter to any of the others you might as well be farting in the wind.

The banksters want war in Syria/Iran to install their central banks and to continue the Petro Dollar Ponzi, that is all. It infuriates them that Syria has no central bank and ZERO debt unlike the USA of course which they freely control via debt.

Since the banksters own and control Congress and the President, the only very minor obstacle is the objections of the whimpering, powerless American people.

I don't know...
My gut tells me that the House Of Representatives will not vote YES for a military strike against Syria.
My gut tells me that if Obama wants to strike, he does it on his own.

Of course I did pig out on some home made LOX from the pink salmon I caught Monday so maybe my gut is a bit off:s0131::s0112:

I have no faith in Congress anymore, but hope your gut is right. Where did you catch the salmon?
