I just saw a thread on FB which had someone asking if they needed to go through an FFL to send a gun to someone out of state (Oregon to Alaska). Here are a few responses that made me cringe (and post back at them with the actual law):

Ship the bolt separately. Then you don't have to bother with a dealer

I think Michael is correct. If you ship it in 2 pieces, then you are shipping gun parts, which in not illegal.

What Federal Law states that it can't be shipped in parts? They are called loopholes.

It would seem that these people have not actually read the law. Don't know where they got what they wrote but it definitely wasn't from the law.
