With all due respect we must use every tool at our disposal and that includes social media. Your already doing so just by being a member here. If you don't think this is social media or that it is not just as much or more of a target than Facebook then your sadly mistaken. 2 years ago the antis intentionally infiltrated this forum along with a few others to collect data (twisted but nevertheless) that they used to support I-594. As far as LEO's I'm not too concerned about most of them. Because of what I do it puts me in contact with them frequently and the majority are in our corner.

Yep. This is social media, but as I have been telling posters throughout this thread, I don't discuss the strategies on the Internet.

On Facebook you are not anonymous; here you are somewhat anonymous and if you work behind the scenes, you are a lot more effective.

As for LEOs, I work around them on an almost daily basis. I can't think of any major LEO organization that has come out against registration, bans, etc. Matter of fact, most of the major LEO organizations want gun control.

The typical strategies of voting, writing letters, making calls, etc. are necessary; however, they are not the strategies that result in net wins. If voting would change the bottom line, the powers that be would make voting illegal. The reality is the left gets more of their legislation passed than the right does. The right has become reactionaries.

What I'm suggesting involves the element of surprise. You cannot develop a counter to a surprise strategy. So, while you may want to argue with me, I'm telling people that want to do what you're doing - do so. It has to be done. If you want more; if you want to be effective, you will have to go beyond the required steps of general citizenry.

They don't have to convince you that you don't need or want a gun, they have to convince your kids and grand kids they don't.

And still people send their kids to the government schools.

I don't understand this. People nag me to vote and to beg my legislator for a little liberty, actions that are bound to yield no good result, yet the one thing they can and should do, keep their kids out, they won't do it. Even when it is easier to avoid government schools than to use them, they still use them.

I know you meant that in jest, but once upon a time (a few years ago) an eight year old pointed a chicken finger resembling a handgun at classmate (while in the lunchroom at school) and said bang. The young child was taken away by police (and he was handcuffed) for violating the no weapons policy.

And yet still, people send their kids to these schools. The only conclusion I can come to, is that people are not serious.

Bushman,
Have you considered that some options under your conditions might be illegal?
I do not think many will state on an open forum their intentions to break a ban or law.
You might not want to press for answers .
Andy

That one^^^

What kind of stupid question is this anyway???

I'm certainly not going to answer it...o_O

I'd post what I would do if the gun squad came to my door but nothing in my statement could be construed as legal, which I'm fine with , and it could all be used against me in a court of law. I'll just remain silent. I have the right to remain silent. I have the right to an attorney, if I cannot afford an attorney one will be provided for me.

You watched Braveheart, didn't you?

Nossir.

I didn't need a fake Scot dressed in rags with a fake Scottish accent acting out his well-known hatred of all things British to advise me.

In 1988 I lost seven semi-auto centrefire rifles because of the actions of a maniac.

In 1997/8 I lost a hundred and eighteen handguns because of the actions of another maniac.

It seems to us over in yUK that the groundwork is being laid by your politicians to build the road along which the eventual restrictions on firearms of all kinds will travel like a juggernaut.

Tac, how do you feel about the direction the Brexit vote went yesterday?

Obama comes to town; ask him about 'bureaucracy guns' and Brexit vote

When President Barack Obama lands in Seattle later today, if any local reporters have the opportunity to ask questions, they might quiz him about the egg on his face from yesterday's Brexit vote outcome in Great Britain, and also about a report that federal bureaucracies now have more guns than the U.S. Marines, and why that is.

Interesting quote from the article:

"Jack Fowler, publisher of the conservative National Review magazine, tweeted that Obama's "lecturing" to the British people in April did not help the "remain" camp."

Damn, that arrogant a$$ munch cannot get past himself at all - he thinks he knows more about everything than everyone else. I'm getting sick and damn tired of this arrogant putz posturing himself and lecturing us and the rest of the world. He can't be gone soon enough. In my opinion, one of the worst, if not the worst, presidents we've ever had.

Honestly, if the Brexit is a blow to Obama and his policies, then THANK YOU U.K.!!!!!! You folks did an awesome job!!!! Well done :s0115:

It's in the nature of US presidents emperors to make pompous, self-serving lectures to the rest of the world. Obama was just following that tradition. It's amazing though, with all the resources he has at his disposal, that he couldn't figure out his speech would just antagonize people and make them more likely to vote "leave". I guess we are ruled by idiots after all.

I do commend the British for this vote. Also a good slap in the face for Hitlery.

Let's say your state enacts a state ban. Would you turn your stuff in or move to a free state?

Personally I'd move to a free state, and keep moving until it gets so bad that I'd just relocate to a tropical paradise to live cheap and be unarmed for a fraction of the cost of living...

Why not move to paradise first and save the headache of all that moving:confused::confused::confused:

I cannot apologize for Obama and the Ds and Rs who have diligently worked to trivialize and eradicate unalienable Rights. I have always been against the Rinos, the socialists parading around under the banner of democracy and the outrageous leftists like Hitlery Clinton, Odumba, and the rest of those Dumbacrats that have sold us out.

At the same time, maybe some of the responsibility for not waking up enough people to the dangers of gun control can be laid on my shoulders. But, as you see -even here, gun owners tend to be reactionaries, not pro active warriors in the cause. If it ain't the usual Internet fodder and requires a little work, most Americans aren't interested.

The cause is looking for a few good men and women.

I suspect we all have our, "lines in the sand." Mine is that I will not proactively surrender anything that I purchased legally that the State suddenly decides to make illegal.

I personally don't care about registering. I know some people do and I understand their position. But if we're at the point where the government is looking up peoples names and addresses to round up the guns, and sending out the jack booted thugs, I expect Civil War II has already begun.

However, if the State tells me I have to surrender my STANDARD capacity magazines or my AR15, I will not be doing that. Feel free to send the jack booted thugs to my house to collect them and see my point above. And I hope for both our sake that I'm not in a cranky mood that day.
