Just as sure as defunding the Police will make us safer.

Defunding the police (DFP), like socialism, has never worked because it has never been done right. If you want DTP to work you also have to disarm the people hoarding all the money and other stuff the criminals need.

Once the so called criminals have aggressively transferred ownership of everybody else's things they will have achieved equity and will no longer need to steal until you get paid again.

I'm sure you can finally now see how DFP and socialism work the same way, which is why they are pushed by the same people.

Concerning the OP's original premise or question, I support his right to do whatever his convictions dictate. However, my convictions do not match his. Rather than be concentrating on the number of rounds the bad guy does or does not have, I support the positions of mutually assured destruction and overwealming force. To this end, heavily arm the people in the mall that the OP is worried about and perhaps the problem will be solved.
