If you run a search there are reports that the Highland Park shooter had legally obtained the firearm, but there are other reports that Highland Park had an AWB prohibiting high capacity magazines? Oops! There are suspect reports that the rifle had a large capacity magazine, but not specified; and in addition, there are suspect reports that the shooter was a violent extremist. There are photos of his bizarre appearance. Time will tell if the truth emerges.

Just guessing that if he was mentally deranged, that the health care or school system, if they knew he had mental problems, may have failed to properly assess him, and or engage him in risk reduction of potential violent behaviors. Just guessing he was not normal and woke up that day and turned bad and decided to do the act? Unlikely his parent did not know of his "psychic" problems. FYI: Looking weird is just one indicator, of many; of mental illness or character-personality disorder. Lots of mentally ill young people disfigure their appearance.

I read the story. The witness said the shooter shot first from the rooftop, climbed down, then continued shooting. He doesn't say the shooter never shot from the rooftop. Also, since the shooter climbed a ladder to get on to the rooftop, it makes sense he climbed down at some point as well to make his escape.

Schwartz's account of what took place differs from the police narrative. He said he saw the shooter in the street, believing that his second round of fire occurred on the ground and the first round on the building.
