Winchester, Model 94 Standard Rifle, 20" Barrel (Short Rifle/Carbine), 30-30 Win, Lever Action. Manufactured 1968 based on the serial number 3184XXX. Nearly new condition, may never have been fired. Deep blued finish with no wear. Has a checkered steel buttplate.

I only meant that it is a carbine in the generic sense.
Carbine - a long-barreled firearm with a shorter barrel than a standard rifle or musket. Most carbines are shortened versions of full-length rifles.
Winchester offers other Model 94's with 24" barrels.
