Not a pre 64. It is a controlled feed action like a Mauser. The gun is flawless with less than a box of ammo through it. You will not be disappointed.

Is this a pre-64? What kind of accuracy can somebody reasonably expect on a relatively unmodified Winchester model 70?

I've gotten sub moa out of the one I had in 280 rem. It was an ultralight model with a pencil barrel as well. Not many factory rifles made in the last 40 years that won't shoot better than their owners can.
