Model 1897 winchester 12 ga. Take down model. Full choke. Price reduced $375. Consider part trade for .45 ammo. IMG_20141026_212305668.jpg IMG_20141026_212556303.jpg IMG_20141026_212305668.jpg

Do you happen to know the year of manufacture, or could give the first six digits of the SN?

The SN on the receiver is 644970. The barrel section has 507259 stamped where it attaches to the receiver. I don't know date of manufacture but would appreciate you posting it here if you look it up

    Receiver made in 1917.
    Front end made in 1911
The mismatched parts affects the collectors value, but it could still be a very functional gun.
Also, your magazine tube is installed upside down, Probably doesn't come apart and back to gather very well, easy fix.

How common is this for takedowns? What do you feel fair market value is?

take down is fairly common, huge demand among the cowboy action crowd. The mist match won't matter to them much if the price is right.

A miss matched combo can lead to timing issues and thus the shotgun not feeding properly is some cases. I have learned the hard way. Not saying is the case with this shotgun.

It cycles just fine. Not sure why that would be unless they custom machined parts to fit together for each gun.

Good candidate to make it into one of these.
