I engaged into a discussion about the Willamette River Greenway areas..

Dad owns property bordering the river. He says only shotguns allowed. I corrected and showed that shotguns are only allowed on the greenway.

From what I can tell the greenways are specific areas marked out on the maps.

Now here is something funny. The greenway at his property actually includes (per the map) private property.

His view is that the greenways are xyz ft from summer river levels.

Who's right or wrong or whats the story? I've read a bunch and looked at maps and can't figure out a definite answer other than the idea of it being select areas along the Willamette river.

I have 7 days as of the 24th to go and fill the Willamette unit tag before I need to buy another license for 2016....

The average high water line is the go/no go line.
Below the high line you can traverse.

This is not to include a flood zone.

This is based on a decision by
Hardy Myers- former attorney general.

This is his depiction of an OLD ruling and as of yet (as far as I know) been tried in court.

A call to OSP fish and game division should clairify any confusion as far as trespass issues.
Good luck on your hunt,, let us know how you do.
