Gun rights are being or going to be denied for alleged domestic abusers now? I know a guy (not me!) who got mad and threw a chair on the ground that cost him a fortune in legal fees.

As the bill, HB 1840, once again moved through the state legislature, the gun lobby made a backroom deal with lawmakers, agreeing to drop its public opposition to it in exchange for a few minor changes. This February, with the NRA's tacit approval, the bill sailed through the state legislature in a rare unanimous vote.

Title of post makes no sense. If you own firearms, you ARE a racists. So disarming racists would mean you would have to disarm everyone. Isn't that what the left is claiming? Only racists own guns? We dont like president douche whats his name? Thats why we are buying guns at the highest pace in history?

The Indians and Chinese I work with do not consider themselves the same race. But legally they are - cause the Brittish said so, and now so does the US.

If you run DNA - many of those of brown skin who can trace their ancestry back to the Civil War, are as much norther European as I am. Many of them are more American than I -- that is more generations in the ol' USofA than my families.

IMO over half the military problems of the past 70 years or so (since WWII) stem from how the British drew the map lines. Khyber Pass anyone - IIRC the most recent nuclear detonations were sabre rattling over that piece of earth. circa 1998 by both Pakistan and India.

This law has been in affect for a long time. In 2001 I called my gf a bubblegum over the phone & was soon escorted to jail for dv. I had no guns at the time,but when I was issued my no contact I was also ordered to turn over any firearms that I had to the police. This law is easily abused since only an allegation has to be made and no proof offered up. One more tool to be used in the disarming of America.

According to these geniuses hardcore white racists don't have a higher rate of gun ownership. So what's their problem? Black racists don't get studied btw.

I see a time when real and "symbolic racism" whatever the heck that is, will be considered a mental disorder that will bar a person from certain rights including gun ownership.

Take a look at what has happened to the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. He made some really stupid statements and as a result, he has been banned from the league for life and it looks like he is going to be forced into parting with private property that he legally owns. So let's talk about this slippery slope for a second.

What if I make some perceived racist statements to my neighbor and my neighbor calls the cops? Or what if I write a letter to the editor that is critical of the President and I am branded a racist because I disagree with him? Can the City of Salem or the State of Oregon find my statements so outrageous they decide to cut my electricity, gas and water off? When I call them will they tell me that I am welcome to live in the city, but without utilities? If my neighbors find me so racist they decide to force me out of the neighborhood by vandalizing my property will the cops respond or will there be a "blue flu" at my address?

Why can Charles Barkley call for an "all black NBA", without anyone blinking an eye? Why are Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan able to say the things they do without consequence? Watch out for that slope.
