I won't have anything to do with Hi Bid. I've bought stuff in auctions that go through them, won't be doing it again. Be careful when considering bidding on auctions going through Hi Bid. How many pictures have they provided? Do picture(s) adequately show what's in the lot? Does the description adequately inform as to what is in the lot? Read the fine print rules of the auction. Does the auctioneer offer an in person preview prior to the auction where you can inspect lots? What are the payment arrangements and buyer commissions? What are the arrangements for taking possession of lots won?

Google "Is Hi Bid any good?" or "I hate Hi Bid" or similar. Then you can go to discussions of issues involving the company. Like Reddit as an example, lots of comments about suspected shill bidding. Also, mentioned many times are comments stating that auctioneers using Hi Bid have access to max bid and reserve price information while the bidding is underway.

Live auctions are just about dead. Principals involved much prefer online auctions now. There is less transparency and more money to be made.

I don't know anything about the Wilbur auction, but be warned about going through Hi Bid.

Thanks for the heads up,I have had no transactions using HiBid as the financial medium. This is a local auction house and I always just go pick up my purchases in person and pay cash or check...That said, there have been a couple of times when I decided I did not want the item, for various reasons, including that it wasn't what I thought it was,or did not fit my gun or my needs...The auction people have always been okay with me declining...That said,I think he just uses HiBid as a vehicle to get the items out there, and after hearing your perspective on HiBid,if you do buy from Wilbur auction, just call and deal with them directly regarding payment...Thanks again for the heads up...
