I personally will never vote on an unalienable right of mine that cannot be infringed upon. Were I to vote on such a thing, I would be publicly acknowledging that mob rule can trump my unalienable right. I(and I mean "I" as in "myself". No one else is required to see it my way.) will never vote upon my right to freely own and carry a Bible, my right to be publicly upset with my government, or my right to keep and bear arms. "Laws" such as these deserve and will get nothing but contempt from me. Imagine if our Founders stopped the Revolution because they realized it was against the law? Of course, now that it's 2014 and we have come full circle to being ruled by a King, what's the point of dying for freedom if it can be tossed aside by decadence in only a few short generations?

I wonder what would be said if slavery were to come up on the next ballot? And if we're ready to vote on other freedoms the government has no right to infringe upon, why wouldn't we be able to vote to put certain people in chains? We live in a world where abortion is a protected right and gun ownership is not, so why would written law matter anyway?

I do not believe my vote counts even one tiny bit nor will it change anything at all.

However, I vote, I vote every election, I learn the issues and the ideologies of those running and vote for the best of the bad choices and I will continue to vote until the plant my ashes under the tomatoes. You can tell fron that statement I am a conservative. If I were a liberal I would not stop voting just because I died.

And in the meantime, others ARE voting to infringe your rights..... So in your mind you are just and nobel, but in the eyes of the State you will be a criminal all because you took the attitude that you shouldn't have to cast a vote.o_O

Exactly. I can vote out of practical necessity and still maintain that I find a law unconstitutional.

You sure can. And yes, I will be just and noble. I didn't "take the attitude that I shouldn't have to vote". You in fact took the attitude that you do have to vote for your rights. Mine are protected by birthright and I won't give in to illegal BS because everybody else set their spine aside. "practical necessity" may find you in a place where you must fall in line to gang rape someone. You may need to join in to keep the other rapists from killing you, whether you find it reprehensible or not. Once you have committed the act, whether out of "practical necessity" or not, you're a rapist.

By all means, take what you will from my comment. I made it clear that this is my point of view(as I do in most all my posts) and that no one else is required to stand for nobility, taste and decency. I, however am her Avenging Sword. When you "vote" in the guys that finally put you in a camp or an incinerator, you will find me out here living life as an American was meant to, unencumbered by Socialist ideals.

When freedom and independence gets you replies like these, it makes you wonder why this "apathy" is only viewed from one side. The men that created this great nation did not do so by attempting to meet Imperialism on it's own terms. They did so by cutting away the false to reveal the truth. They knew that freedom and liberty could never coexist with shackles. You are free or you are not. These days, we make a lot of these choices ourselves even if we pretend to be under the thumb of something else.

By the way, if the OP only wanted those that agree to chime in, why pose the statement as a question? It should also be noted that by admitting that his/her rights are voted upon and then infringed, he/she has already given their rights up and that is the only way they can be forfeited. Your life can be taken, but only you can give away your rights. Mine are still here with me and will be when I die. Period. People called that view dangerous in 1776 and that view created the greatest nation the world has ever known. Going away from those views have created what we now have, a place where you ask nicely for your "rights" and only take what you are given. My rights are not someone else's to give me, so no, my rights therefore will not be voted or infringed upon.

It's eventually going to come down to this, kicking and screaming, covered in the blood of tyrants and the insane. It always does, voting this thing down is simply a delaying tactic..

And I am afraid that part is going to be coming sooner rather then later by the way things are going.

There will be a long long period of time more Orwellian like I'm sure, before the sheep think of rising up. By that time it'll be too late.

Our rights are being eroded so gradually, and the masses ever more dependent on the Nanny State that you have to wonder, who will fill the role of Patriot when "we roll"? Not many older ones left and not many replacements taking up the cause. Even in how they vote!

Better to double efforts to keep trying to change minds and delay at this point, IMHO! I'll be turned to dust and a New World Order solidly in place before any significant amount of blood is spilled.

the American patriots (citizens) are way out gunned. Typical city police departments are armed like military units nowadays. We live in a police state plain and simple. So you want to do the Mel Gibson Patriot thing... the modern day horsemen will be in helicopters and armored SWAT vehicles.

This is all true.. as was the fact that the British were the US military of the 18th century. The problem now with modern Patriots is the fact we don't have a air force or tanks. or artillery.

Remember though how the Soviets bled in Afghanistan.

< Why they don't have school shootings in Israel.
Notice the long gun slung over the teachers shoulder?

If it comes down to a fight you have to remember that the US citizens have more guns than all the standing armies in the world combined, and most of the armed services personnel DO believe in the Constitution and will not follow illegal orders. Then there are the retired service members who still remember their oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution

failing to vote when 594 on the ballot is foolish. Failing to vote 'yes' on I-591 is inconceivable. Maybe you feel like 'my no vote doesn't count', but declining to say yes to limiting the state's powers to enact stricter than federal legislation regarding firearms is mind boggling.
It's pretty simple. 'no' on 594, 'yes' on 591.

To say nothing of the conversation as a whole, but just to answer the original question... I was finally able to put my finger on it a few weeks ago, and succinctly summarize my political position as a whole, the nature of my currently completely politically apathetic state going on half a decade or more, and the only solution for it.

Here is everything that can be said about any and all political positions I hold or could ever hold:

I'll vote when Jesus is running.

Armed citizens outnumber the US military and police at least 50 to 1. The vaunted US military with even more heat couldn't beat the Afghans. Most big city cops are not great shots, especially with long guns. They have no deep preps, either. And as far as how long, the book speaks of great cataclysmic events which will bring it on abruptly. Stay tuned and be as ready as you can be
