Uninformed citizens who don't take the time to look things over/investigate etc. and want a salesman oops i meant politician to make decisions for them is part of the reason for this mess. And I Get Mad Every Time I Think About Those Kid's And No Adult Present; Being Able To Properly Defend Them. Thanks To Gun Free Zones!

Yes, it is trolls baiting and the mods should delete the entire thread.............or put it in humor and nonsense.

Seem like this is a typical my opinion bait situation, they appear to be pretty familiar with the software like this was done before. I may be wrong but its not likely new people would jump into a brand new forum and at once go at odds with what they know the majority of gun owners would find opposition to. And for that reason I am out :) moving to another thread. I just keep thinking of how similar post are seen on Dave Workmans commentary, I do not see this as constructive or healthy to the group so my participation ends here in this thread.

DuneHopper , Good Day ( think Paul Harveys voice )

OP, do you really believe any of these "laws" will stop criminals from committing crime? Criminals are the problem not putting more leverage on the law abiding. How about more pressure on them... oh wait I forgot Obama is pardoning them and not allowing employers to screen them.

Very well said- post #63 and #74!

Universal background checks are not the real issue here; universal registration is. I really wish that this little fact was more widely understood.

I've had plenty of background checks over the years, both personally and professionally. They don't really bother me that much. A simple system that would allow private parties to do BGC's, with some reasonable exceptions, might not be terribly unpalatable to most people, though I really don't see it being very effective.

The truth is that that's not what the gun control crowd wants, at all. They are control freaks who simply want full registration, using "background checks" as simply a means to that end. Think "Australian model". That's what they want. Sure, people can have guns. That's OK by them. They just want want total control over who, what, when, and how.

I think a outright ban is impossible and they know this! A run on ammo by a few fed agencies like we saw a few years ago would do the trick! Sure.........WE wont take your guns, we will just take all the ammo and then what god will your guns be!

Dear Northwest Firearms Friends,

I am from Illinois (not Chicago) where I am currently finishing my aircraft mechanic course and certification, which will be complete in two weeks. I have also been working on my residency in WA while in IL and will be in the Seattle area with my family to begin my job search upon completion of my training. I am so happy to be moving back to such a glorious state as Washington. I am a moderate, more left leaning gun owner and always will be one, and I do not understand the hostility when it comes to legal changes to laws regarding firearms to any extent... blah blah blah!

Troll Much?

I suggest you investigate your employment opportunities in CA, NY, MA, MD, etc... Sorry, but we're way over capacity with bootlickers at the moment!!!

I think there is conflation across the entire gun debate. There is no trust today in government and rightfully so.

Imagine for a moment if we had a trustworthy president and if we had real representatives in government... I think we could reform gun laws and even improve our freedoms and access to firearms. Leave in the stuff that makes sense, take out the bubblegum that isn't enforced, expunge laws considered overreach and add good legislation in a transparent, piecemeal fashion. Notably absent from liberal talking points you'll notice is any mention of beefing up laws around criminal enterprises and gangs who account for the exceeding majority of gun violence in the United States. The left just centers in on the individuals right to firearm access, that's all they do. That's the only thing they're 'tough on crime' about.

The Bill Of Rights is not a 'Law"; it is cannon, it is the itemization of unalienable rights, that means natural rights as bestowed upon man by God. No "Law" nor "Regulation" can remove an unalienable right
But of course no one here expects you to realize that

Government-Educated Mass Murderers
The Meister
<broken link removed> Liberals love to find conservative connections to despicable acts of violence. The Aurora, Colorado, shooting is no exception. But going back through the background of mass murderers, I've come up with a common denominator – they were all government educated.
The 1999 Columbine shooters were products of the Colorado Public (government) schools system. The pair killed 13 people and injured 24 others. Their worldview was fundamentally Darwinian. "In his journal, [Eric] Harris mentioned his admiration of what he imagined to be natural selection, and wrote that he would like to put everyone in a super Doom game and see to it that the weak die and the strong live."
The Rocky Mountain News reported Harris and Dylan justified their actions based on Darwinian Natural Selection. Harris was wearing "a white T-shirt with the inscription 'Natural Selection' on its front." It was based on a video game of the same name. "The game's World Wide Web site says it encompasses a 'realm where anything can happen,' a place for the 'bravest of the brave and the fiercest of the fierce. . . . It's a place where survival of the fittest takes a very literal meaning. . . . It's the natural way, it's Natural Selection."

Where did they learn about Natural Selection? In government schools. It's not just in the United States. Finland had its own mini-Columbine when
"at least seven people were killed when a teenaged gunman opened fire at a school in southern Finland on November 7, 2007 hours after a video was posted on YouTube predicting a massacre there. . . . The YouTube video, entitled 'Jokela High School Massacre — 11/7/2007,' was posted by a user called 'Sturmgeist89.' 'I am prepared to fight and die for my cause,' read a posting by a user of the same name. 'I, as a natural selector, will eliminate all who I see unfit, disgraces of human race and failures of natural selection.'" The shooter described himself as "a social Darwinist."[1]
The Virginia Tech massacre was a school shooting that took place on April 16, 2007, on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, a governmetn school steeped in Darwinian science. Seung-Hui Cho shot and killed 32 people and wounded 17 others. Cho "railed against his parents' strong Christian faith."[2]
James Holmes is the product of government education. He had a federal grant to study neuroscience at the University of Colorado. Neuroscience is steeped in evolutionary biology and is by definition wholly materialistic:
When materialist causes become both necessary and sufficient to explain all of human thought then parsimony dictates that references to a soul or other supernatural entities can be tossed out.
Given the foundational premise of neuroscience, Holmes did nothing more than kill evolved soulless biological units – bags of meat and bones with electricity coursing through them.
A September 13, 2008 Newsweek article shows that the science of neuroscience is that our actions are the result of "an array of mindlessness," the reaction of "mechanical or chemical bits."
"Today neuroscientists are finding abundant evidence of an idea that even Freud played with more than 100 years ago, that separating mind from brain makes no sense. Nobel Prize-winning psychiatrist-neuroscientist Eric Kandel stated it directly in a watershed paper published in 1998: 'All mental processes, even the most complex psychological processes, derive from operations of the brain.'
"Neuroscientists consider it settled that the mind arises from the cooperation of billions of interconnected cells that, individually, are no smarter than amoebae. But it's a shocking idea to some that the human mind could arise out of such an array of mindlessness. Many express amazement that emotions, pain, sexual feelings or religious belief could be a product of brain function. They are put off by the notion that such rich experiences could be reduced to mechanical or chemical bits. Or they worry that scientific explanations may seduce people into a kind of moral laziness that provides a ready excuse for any human failing: 'My brain made me do it.'"
If I were James Holmes, I would find myself a good lawyer and the best neuroscientist that money could buy and argue that I was taught in government schools that "My evolved brain made me do it."

Really? You guys typed out 5 pages in response?

Hook, line and sinker.... :p

I was sitting here thinking the same damned thing.
We have a serious issue woith good people trying to make life better for the farmers and ranchers of Burns and this is what occupies people's time.
No wonder we are losing our rights.
Thank you for stating it. I wanted to but figured I would just get in the doghouse again if I brought that up ROFLMAO.
Thanks there IronMonster :):)

I was totally absorbed for HOURS responding to this flowery troll, when I wasn't running my other posts on 4 other sites;)
Be amazed at my flying fingers of Google Fu!

Did you watch the town hall show last night? Remember when Obama was questioned about the conspiracy theory? Did you notice that no one asked him if his next step was to ban so called assault weapons or so called extended magazines. He has stated before that he would like to, but no one asked the question. The propaganda show tried to sell that it was fair and balanced, but it really was not. He should have been asked straight out, what his end game is.
His statement that he respects the Second Amendment is like when the Government told the American Indians that the new reservation they are being moved to will be much better for their people. We all know how that worked out.
Yes, Obama speaks with forked tongue.
