I just received this critical information for the 2024 election in the mail today!

Note, it is 3 days AFTER the election was held. :s0054:

I voted the SAME DAY my ballot came in the mail! I already knew who I was voting for and I don't give a rat's ZZZ who the nra OR ANYONE thinks or suggests I should vote for!
On top of which MY BALLOT goes into the 'drop your ballot here' box that's in a town of 3500 people or so. Zero issues in 30 plus years although I'd still prefer a vote in person with ID!

Dan

Although the PVF card did arrive in my mailbox a day or so before 5 November, it was already too late. By then, I'd already submitted my ballot and confirmed that it had been received & accepted.

I credit sluggish USPS handling for the tardy cards, and an equal measure of blame to NRA for mailing them so late that USPS speed (oxymoron?) became a factor.

Where did it come from? NRA in Virginia? If so I would blame NRA for not mailing it early enough. What's the postmark date?
No postmark, pre sorted "first class mail". I don't think this was late on the NRA side. Routinely, our mail doesn't arrive until 7:00 pm or later and frequently get neighbor's mail in our box.

Not sure what this has to do with mail in voting but ok
Subtly implying that mail delivery is not always reliable or prompt. We never trust the USPS with a ballot, and would prefer to go back to in person with ID voting. Sorry, I guess I should have explained it better.

Agreed. The mail carrier sees your mail every day so he or she knows if you are a conservative or a liberal if you get literature that gives it away. I'd be OK with the USPS delivering blank ballots to voters mailboxes, but your filled-out ballot should never be in the hands of one individual - it should always have representatives of both parties watching it. Mail-in voting should be prohibited in all states based on the above security requirement, and based on a USPS union, the National Association of Letter Carriers, supporting the party of gun control - they endorsed Obama, Biden, and Harris. The only filled-out ballots they should be allowed to deliver to the elections office should be from people who have no other way to get their ballot delivered, and there should be very few of those.

Trump wins and the whining remains. It's like it's a lifestyle or something.

Mail is slow.....mail gets lost.
I don't trust the mail to get me any of my magazines....sure don't trust it for voting.

Never been a fan of mail in voting....not for any conspiracy or the like...
Just don't like it...'cause I feel like I really didn't do anything , unlike when I voted in person at the polls.

I like to think pulling that one armed bandit lever made a satisfying ka-chunk sound. Never got to experience it myself. Been mail in voting my whole life

I dont support mail in voting but technically as long as the postmark is stamped in time it will get counted if it arrives late to the election place.
Thats how its supposed to work anyways...

Here is something to think about when it comes to mail-in voting: Many elderly voters have a very hard time getting to the polls, especially if they can't drive. Mail in voting takes a lot of the difficulty out of voting for that group. Who do you think they are going to vote for? I am guessing the majority are going to scoff at the Democrats hand-out mentality and vote Republican.

Next election for anyone in WA who wants to know, there is a simple way to check. Assuming you do not wait till the last day to mail it in. I dropped off ours in a box on the Thursday before. By that Monday they showed they were received. Drop them in the mail early, if they don't show up they will let to do a provisional vote on election day. I was voting by mail back when you had to make some excuse to do it that way.
