Why does it take the ATF so long to approve a form 4?

Just because you don't have the possibility of an extra delay because of the FBI doesn't mean a trust will go through faster at the ATF. They all seem to run around the same speed. My last can on a trust took 6 months, right in the same window with all the other transfers I saw people talking about that were submitted at the same time.

Yes but I have NEVER heard of a trust transfer being held up due to delays with fingerprints. I cant say the same is true for an individual transfer..........

My first Tax Stamp Application was returned for an error on the form ..... corrected and resubmitted. Had the Stamp less then 3 weeks later.

The main reason they're taking so long is that they have only 2 more staff than they did 6 years ago, with a more than 200% increase in the amount of transfers they're processing.

I just got my SBR stamp that I filed with a Form-1 and Revocable Trust that I DIY'd.... took six months almost to the day.
