Why Does Anybody Need Military-Style Rifles?

Ha! I have a military-style rifle. It's a Remington 700 in 300 Win mag. I just don't call it an M2010, that way my neighbors don't get skeert when I load it in my car to go to the range.

Keep in mind when the 2A was written the only weapons on the market were military style weapons. Civilians had the same weapons.

Being an old fart I like the tried and true:
Why do I need a "Military Style" rifle?
To keep King George out of my face!

Maybe if more people read a little bit about King George and what a tyrant and despot he was and what he tried to do to this country they would understand the need for these weapons.

Does my military issue 45-70 or 30-40 Krag rifles still count as military rifles?

What I want to know is why the military keeps using civilian style rifles to the point that everyone thinks they're military. The AR-15 started in the civilian market, then the military bought them. Perhaps the private sector should stop selling civilian style rifles to the military to avoid this confusion.
