Don't know what made me think about it, but I think I'm going to search Amazon.com and look for some books with Russell Annabel's stories.
I remember reading his stories in one of the hunting magazines when I was a kid. Can't remember if it was Outdoor Life, Field and Stream, or Sports Afield, but he was one of the best story tellers ever. He was an outdoorsman and guide in Alaska.
I have a crystal clear memory of sitting on my Father's lap and him reading Annabel's "The Moon of the Drunken Bears" to me. I don't know that I've ever laughed so hard in my life.
Oh well, I must be getting old.
