I've had some really good experience using Netgear. If I was in the market, I would go with one of theirs, or if not them, them Linksys.

Same here. Don't get me wrong. Linksys makes some amazing routers, but their firmware and software support left a lot to be desired. I picked up a dlink gamer fuel and haven't looked back since.

+1 For 3rd party firmware.

A Broadcom based router with DD-WRT or Tomato firmware is my choice.
I have an Asus RT-N16 running Tomato USB and it has been rock solid.
Picked it up at ENU for $97.

I use this exclusively. There is no better firmware replacement out there, and you can do SO much with it. Linksys routers have Cisco hardware filled with code that was written by opium infused monkey coders. DD-WRT actually makes the crappy 'security' features of a Linksys actually work.
