Went and checked my stock of 7.62x39 that looks the same. It is also from about 92 and mine is in ChinaSports (Norinco) boxes. Mine is non corrosive as I have done the bright nail test on it. You can test your ammo to see.....just Google Bright Nail Test.

BillM,
what is the head stamp marking on you ammo?

19 (or 61, depending on how you read it) on one side, 94 directly across. Case and bullet same
copper color, primer brass colored. Black bullet sealant visible on some rounds, no primer
sealant that I can see. IIRC this stuff--as well as some of the Russian 7.62x39---was sold
as "mildly corrosive" back in the 90's.
