    I find myself following a few people on here and wondered who do YOU follow? I found these guys thread after thread, and I almost always seem to be thinking the same thing(although never articulated as well as some of them)

    @etrain16
    @bolus
    @Joe13
    @mjbskwim
    @erudne

    Who should be on this list?

    I do? What's a following? How do I find that out? And what does it mean?

    Oh man, following someone? Really? When (and if) I finally retire, I'll be living off the grid.
    May the Lord protect and keep me, if I follow someone in between now and then.
    (No offense - lots of great opinions here with which I agree, just have a strong resistance to following.)

    I dont "follow" follow people, more just keep an eye out for their posts. Mostly I look for knowledgeable people and ones with a good sense of humor. I have been in pain most of my life and have learned to laugh to keep my mind off other stuff.

    I am neither a joiner nor follower, didn't know you could even do such a thing! But there are some whose views seem to be similar to mine. Which makes them some of the usual suspects, indeed! :)

    I follow one person... Not sure how it happened since I don't know how that works. But I'm too lazy to do anything about. For the most part I just follow the circus.

    There seems to be too many knowledgeable people here that I'd be following too many people if I did.

    Yeah, so.....I don't get the following thing either? Now when I look though, I have two followers! I hope it doesn't offend them when I fart? Anyways, there are a lot of posters on the board that I respect, and consider well written and intelligent, and I enjoy reading them. I would like to know though, what is the purpose of "Following"? @Joe Link Geez, if that meant I get a notice every time the "Followed" made a post, my alerts would be off the page most of the time!

    So, I'd like to say Thank You my followers, and I hope me not following you is not a social faux pas. I appreciate mostly all posters on the forum!

    EDIT: You should probably follow @Stomper , he's sure to give you chuckle most of the time!

    I only follow folks I need to keep an eye on, cause I know they're troublemakers :s0012: :s0036:

    As far as I can tell, following someone does two things: first, they get a notification that you're now following them...kind of creepy :eek: and second, when that person is online, you see their avatar listed in the right hand side-bar (not sure if that shows on a phone view) so you know they're online. And as far as I know, that's it. I do follow some folks and some folks follow me. My main reason for using following is to know when folks are online so I can keep an eye out for any posts that may be worth checking out.

    Otherwise, it's all just creepy stalker stuff. I just hope it doesn't allow them to read my thoughts - that's not good for anyone - it's bad enough that I share some of them here :rolleyes:

    And soo my list grows! There is nothing creepy/stalker like with my following, I just tend to follow people who's opinions I respect and/or posts I really enjoy reading!

    The software has a few different 'features' like this which I question the usefulness of, such as the status updates and profile posts.

    Here's what the devs say about the follow feature:
